Kent – I’ll apologize for the harshness of my tone. It was unnecessary.

However, you can’t be seriously claiming some kind of foresight here, can you?

Sure, the Cubs struggled and ended up somewhere in the broad range that you may have predicted.

But your reasons are just as bizarre and incorrect now as they were when you made them.

The Cubs won’t win because they re-signed Michael Wuertz? A middle reliever, whom the Cubs ultimately traded and who actually was great in Oakland, was the reason the Cubs won’t win? Yikes. I don’t think I’d be patting myself on the back after that one.

The Cubs won’t win because of Ronny Cedeno? A bench, utility player, whom the Cubs ultimately traded. Again, guh?

The Cubs won’t win because they have too many short, white guys? Do I really have to respond to that one?

I appreciated you coming back to this subject, and thanks for your comment, but your self-adulation on this one is misplaced at best. Good luck prognosticating next year – I look forward to reviewing it.

I’m waiting for an apology. Ubergenius is a little strong, but I predicted before the beginning of the season the Cubs would win 83 games.
