Yeah, So Not So Much on the Jeff Keppinger Thing
I was just kidding about Jeff Keppinger as a back-up infielder for the Chicago Cubs - he just got dealt to the Houston Astros for a PTBNL. Which is actually doubly frustrating: he was dealt within the division, so obviously that would not have scared the Reds off; and he was dealt for but a PTBNL. Sigh.
His reaction to the trade was… strange.
“I know [Kazuo] Matsui plays second, [Miguel] Tejada plays short,” he told reporters in Sarasota, Fla. “I don’t know who plays third base. I know [Ty] Wiggington played there last year. [Geoff] Blum? I’m not sure, I have no idea. I’ll find out in a couple of days.” astros.com.
Yes, it’s Geoff Blum.
