I just think a lot of Cardinal fans are insufferable tools. I’m not talking about all Cardinal fans, just the fanatics, moderates, casual fans, people with any kind of Cardinal fan in their lineage, relatives of Cardinal fans- be it by blood or marriage, and people who are for any reason sympathetic towards Cardinal fans even in matters that in no way pertain to baseball.

Outside of that small sub-sect, I find Cardinal fans to be thoughtful, unbiased, humble literate baseball fans who are down for some spirited rivalry.

Oh, and I’ll save you the trouble of typing out a response. Just pick one:
a) You’re just bitter cuz the Cubs haven’t won anything for a hundred bazillion years.
b) CUBS- Completely Useless By September- Ha!
c) Enjoying another year of heartbreak cuz the Cubs aint gonna win NOTHIN!
e) When was the last time the Cardinals won the WS? Huh? Huh?
f) all of the above

Enjoy the rivalry with the Brewers as you battle it out for the WC spot. As for DaveB, I will say that I have lived all over this great country of ours and reserve my highest respect for the fans of two baseball teams – the Cardinals and the Cubs. In general, both are class acts – with some exceptions (yourself obviously included). Enjoy the season and ignore the pain that you will inevitably endure when the leaves start turning…

It’s just our lot in life, DaveB. Every Superman has his super villain — we just happen to have two of them.

However, I think the Brewers are quickly becoming our biggest rival. They are much closer to us than the Cards, they are in our league and division (unlike the Sox), and most of our games in the past few years have been wild and intense. Also, I actually sort of enjoy the Cubs/Brewers rivalry.

Typical. Only South Side Trash could find this funny. How come 2 of our biggest rivals (Sox and Cards) have to be the dirtiest, hickiest, most trailor trash fans in all of baseball? Why couldn’t we have a rival where the fanbase atleast has SOME resemblance of class?
