God’s Wrathwatch: Aramis Ramirez Could Be Out Longer Than a Month
There will be no avoiding the DL this time for Chicago Cubs third baseman Aramis Ramirez.
According to a baseball source, Cubs third baseman Aramis Ramirez could be lost to the team for at least a month after dislocating his left shoulder in the third inning of Friday’s game in Milwaukee, ESPN1000′s Bruce Levine reported. ESPN Chicago.
He’ll have an MRI today after an X-ray last night. Hopefully we’ll know more later in the day or by tomorrow.
This is the third time Ramirez has had this kind of injury to his left shoulder: a dislocation in 2000, and a hyperextension in 1998. Each caused Ramirez to miss a month of action.
Bruce Levine says even if Ramirez comes back this year, he’s going to have surgery after this season to tighten that shoulder up.
