Carlos Zambrano is a Minor Leaguer Today, Major Leaguer on Friday
Aramis Ramirez may be out until forever, but it looks like Carlos Zambrano will be back soon from his hamstring injury.
Carlos Zambrano flew to Florida on Saturday and plans to start Sunday for Class A Daytona in a Florida State League game in Dunedin.
“If everything goes well, he will pitch [for the Cubs] Friday in San Diego,” manager Lou Piniella said. Hardball.
Hopefully the time off added some nice rest for Zambrano’s shoulder. The Cubs were no worse for the wear in his absence - his replacement, Randy Wells, didn’t allow an earned run.
