Probably the hottest hitter in professional baseball, Jake Fox has been absurd with the bat so far this year for AAA Iowa. And given that his parent club has been an offensive disaster for two plus weeks, the call-up-Jake-Fox drum beat has grown ever more difficult to silence – regardless of his defensive shortcomings.

Well, it looks like it’s going to happen. Soon.

Don’t be surprised if the Cubs make some roster moves within the next couple days. As the team tries to fight its way out of its longest slump in two years, management is growing impatient with some of the lackluster performances by some of the players.

Infielder/outfielder Jake Fox continues to be one of the hottest hitters in the minor leagues. A promotion to the cubs is likely even though Fox has some defensive challenges. As of Wednesday night, Fox was hitting .423 with 17 homers and 50 RBIs in 149 at-bats. ESPN Chicago.

You would have to wonder how often the Cubs will actually manage to get him in the lineup – outside of interleague games, of course. Is his hot hitting tied to regular play?
