Interleague play is here, and the Chicago Cubs kick it off with the Minnesota Twins. Hopefully having an extra bat in lineup will help the offense… oh, it’s at Wrigley? F.

So, the series preview: the idea is to hook you up with what you need to know about every series this year. That way you can look like a genius, hardcore fan in front of all your friends, with minimum effort. Oh, and there will be pictures of hot chicks, too.

We’re Going Streaking

FmyCubs. Is it possible to lose back-to-back more frustrating games than the Cubs just did? The offense has once again gone completely into hibernation, and it’s really hurting the Cubs, who’ve now fallen all the way back to fourth place in the NL Central (though still just 2.5 games out).

The Twins have been languishing a bit. They’re in second place in the AL Central, but are two games under .500. They’re 5-5 in their last 10, so that’s about as middling as it gets.

Hot or Not and Whom to Watch

The Chicago Cubs starting pitchers are absolutely rolling, and have a sub-2.00 ERA over the past couple weeks. And as good as they’ve been is as bad as the offense has been. Take out a 7 run EXPLOSION against the Astros earlier in the week, and it’s been brutally lean pickens for a long, long time. So who’s hot? The starting pitchers. Who’s not? The offense. Whom to watch? All of ‘em.

Joe Mauer is an absolute freak – dude is hitting over .400. Again. And it’s June. Remember when the Twins drafted Mauer over Mark Prior due to signability concerns, and everyone thought they’d just missed out on the greatest pitcher of all time? Yeah. Memories.

And now the best part of the preview: if the teams were represented by beautiful women, who would they be, and what would the match up look like. I thought long and hard about who would represent the Cubs this year. Given the fact that she’s thrown out the first pitch, sung the Seventh Inning Stretch, probably likes the Cubs – oh, and the fact that she is a level of hot commensurate with the Chicago Cubs’ ability, I’ve chosen supermodel Marisa Miller. You’re welcome.

Because I’m going with freaking twins, that’s how. It’s the Minnesota TWINS. There will never be a better setup here, unless the Washington Nationals change their name to the Washington Megan Foxes.

But which twins to take? We’ll go with a classic (though hard to imagine someone could be classic in their early 20s): the Olson twins.

So who takes it this time?  Obviously Marisa Miller is hotter than either of the Olson twins, individually. But their combined power could be too much for even Marisa Miller to overcome. Tough match up right here. To make it a somewhat fair fight, we’ll have to find a picture of Marisa Miller where there’s, well, two Marisa Millers.
