Really dean? Nicer? It's not little league, it's "The Show." If I show up to work sad and sullen, my co-workers are under no obligation to be nice to me. They do however, pick up on my moods, and show a little care because I've done it for them. See how that works? That's one of the problems w/ America these days, everyone wants something but isn't willing to give anything in return. Suck it up Milton, enjoy Ace's hugs, and go out there and show us what type of man you are. Sack up, I'm about tired of excuses! :)

Doesn't feel worthy? The only history the Cubs have to go on is his past performances, and let's face it Milton, you're NOT performing to expectations of a 3 year/30mil contract. So in that sense, you're right, you're not worthy.

However, if he's trying to go "deep" and philosophical, then that speaks volumes more to the type of man he is (or perhaps, is not), and the onus is on him to get the respect back. I had high hopes because let's face it, I'm a die-hard Cubs fan! If I'm not an optimist, I may as well go eat a bullet! I would have loved for Milton to come in, prove all his detractors wrong, produce near or slightly above expectations (can you at least get to .300 BA this year big guy? perhaps knock a ball over the bums?), but as is the case, he's just not there.

You could argue however, which is something I've been quietly contemplating for a couple months now, is that this club has no player leadership. If they did, they could have stepped up, included Milton in other reindeer games, and start talking to Theriot to remind him he's not Milton and we need him on base too, rather than swinging for the Ivy every pitch. It's not like Lou gives two sh!ts enough to coach the team. Someone needs to step up...
