Ok, well, maybe it’s legitimate, but Blanco developed the injury just in time for the Cubs to activate Tom Gorzelanny to start last night against the Reds. In a corresponding move, the Cubs sent Blanco to the disabled list.

When asked about the injury, neither manager Lou Piniella nor Blanco, himself, said the injury was serious.

The move, of course, presages the return of every Cubs fan’s favorite infielder, Aaron Miles.
