The Chicago Cubs activated Carlos Zambrano from the disabled list for his start tonight against the Washington Nationals, and in a corresponding move sent down pitcher Esmailin Caridad to AAA Iowa.

Caridad, though he successfully posted a 3.71 ERA with the Cubs, will not be missed. That 3.71 ERA came in just three appearances in more than two weeks. He’ll probably be back next week when rosters expand.
