Milton Bradley: Redefining Insanity
They say that insanity is trying the same thing again and again, and expecting different results.
If that is the case, then Milton Bradley is doubly insane: because he keeps, well, being crazy again and again. Surprise – the results are always the same.
The latest bundle of crazy relates to Bradley’s recent comments that he is uncomfortable at Wrigley Field, and specifically, that he feels hatred there. The Cubs – and we – suggested that Bradley get over it, but unfortunately, he appears to be doing anything but.
“I’m talking about hatred, period,” he said. “I’m talking about when I go to eat at a restaurant, I’ve got to listen to the waiters badmouthing me at another table, sitting in a restaurant, that’s what I’m talking about. Everything.
“All I’m saying is I just pray the game is nine innings so I can be out there the least amount of time as possible and go home.” Daily Herald.

You must be joking, sir. You did not really just tell everyone that all game, you are hoping not for a win, but simply a “fast” game so that you can go home. No. No. You must have been misquoted. Because that would be an unforgivable thing to say.
Of whether the “hatred” has a racial edge, Bradley had this to say:
”It’s not an issue. It’s nothing brand new,” he said, sounding upset as he spoke fast and in a low voice. ”It’s nothing that just started when Milton Bradley came here. It’s the same stuff [the Sun-Times] wrote about in the beginning of the year. This is not like a surprise or a shock or brand new to me or anyone else. You know what I’m saying? It’s the way it’s been.” Chicago Sun-Times.
Well that’s swell. The racism of Cubs fans isn’t an issue, he says. You know, because it’s always been an issue.
One thing is sure. Bradley surely isn’t doing himself any favors if all he wants is to stop getting booed. The irony is that he’s hitting like crazy lately.
But the problem is that he can’t stop talking like crazy.

Right there with you. You couldn’t make this crap up if you wanted to make him look like more of an idiot. I’ll be interested to see if his defenders resurface – how the hell do you defend this?
