Cubs Minor Leaguer Busted for Steroids
A youngster in the Chicago Cubs organization, participating at the Dominican Summer League level (read: really, really far away from ever having an impact on the big team), has been suspended for 50 games after testing positive for anabolic steroid Nandrolone. Commercially, the steroid is known as Deca-Durabolin. You know. In case you were shopping.

ShareThe Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that two Minor League players, infielder Stephen King of the Washington Nationals organization and catcher Wilson Contreras of the Chicago Cubs organization, have received 50-game suspensions after each tested positive for a performance-enhancing substance in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.
King, most recently a member of Class-A Potomac of the Carolina League, tested positive for Ritalinic Acid. Contreras, a member of his organization’s Dominican Summer League team, tested positive for metabolites of Nandrolone.
The suspensions of both players will be effective at the start of next season.
