Obsessive Bradley Trade Watch: Rays Not Absolutely Crazy About Bradley

Chicago Cubs Rumors

In case it needed stating explicitly, the Tampa Bay Rays are not exactly making Milton Bradley their offseason priority. They’ll take him if the Cubs eat enough money, but they aren’t going to go out of their way to get the guy.

And in case you didn’t already know all of that, Buster Olney to the rescue.

Regarding a potential Milton Bradley to Tampa trade, Olney says the Rays “absolutely will not do it unless it’s on their terms, which is that the Cubs might absorb enough money in the swap of Bradley and (Pat) Burrell to make it worthwhile for the Rays.”

I don’t know what’s more amazing:

(1) This incredible insight offered by Olney – I mean, sweet Lord, it’s shocking: the Rays will only do a trade if it’s worthwhile to them? That’s just never true of any trade ever!

(2) The fact that I couldn’t even take the quote from ESPN because this garbage is actually behind a paywall. Seriously? People pay for that kind of generic, useless information? There’s absolutely nothing of value in that statement, outside of the fact that the Rays aren’t falling all over themselves to get Bradley. Which, like, duh.
