Again I am not say he doesnt have amazing stuff it is where his head is at. He is ruled too much by his emotions. So he doesnt make the adjustment needed to be a #1. Does he have #1 stuff yes but he doesnt have the head for it. That is the difference sometimes from being a number 1 and a number 2 or 3. Case and point the guy that just got trade to the Yankee (I would bucther the spelling of his name) has amazing stuff but doesnt have the head to be a #1.

Matt Cain, Tim Lincecum, Chris Carpenter, Adam Wainwight, Brandon Webb, Dan Haren, Roy Oswalt, Wandy Rodrriguez, Cliff Lee Feliz Hernandez, Josh Johnson, Johan Santana, Roy Halladay, Jon Lester, Josh Beckett, John Lackey, Jake Peavy, Mark Buehrle, and you cant forget Zack Greinke. It may not be the 30 you want but I think 21 proves my point

If Z is not a number one, I would like you to name 30 better starting pitchers in baseball. I’ll wait.

Again, I want to reiterate – I’m not saying Zambrano isn’t overpaid. He is. Very much so. But short of getting a sure-thing starter back in return, trading Z is only worthwhile if the Cubs are doing a full-on rebuild.

He’s a sure thing to have a good season. What about that is confusing?

If by “sure thing,” you somehow meant a sure thing to have a good start, every single start, then I guess there isn’t a sure thing pitcher in all of baseball. They’re all inconsistent.

Here’s how we trade Z to the Yankees: they get Z if they take Soriano back.
Frankly, they might like Alf in that lineup. And his contract would only be an anchor for 29 teams, not the Spanks.

Have NY throw in Hughes or someone young. Commit to rebuilding. Transfer Jim to a job that he might actually be able to be good at.
