Jeff Kennard is a Chicago Cub

According to Baseball America‘s minor league transactions, the Chicago Cubs have signed reliever Jeff Kennard to a minor league deal. It’s unclear whether the agreement includes an invitation to Spring Training.
Kennard, 28, is a career minor leaguer with decent numbers. He first made it to AAA in 2008, after 6+ years at the lower levels, and struggled. The Reds picked him up last year, and he was very good at AAA Louisville, putting up a 2.83 ERA in 54 innings.
Bonus factoid: I played high school ball with Kennard. My recollection is that he was a freak of an athlete, playing all over the field, and crushing at the plate. It was easy for me to observe those things … from the bench. Ah. Glory days.
