Once the Chicago Cubs signed Xavier Nady, the writing was on the wall with respect to free agent outfielder Reed Johnson. And now, according to Ken Rosenthal, Johnson is being targeted hard by the Los Angeles Dodgers, and is likely on the way there soon.

Johnson is a quality reserve outfielder, who will be missed in that regard. But if the choice was Nady or Johnson – with apologies to Reed’s legion of fans and spectacular chin hair – the Cubs made the right choice.

Still wish he would have been a Cub. He was a great guy who would always give 100% and that is something I think the Cubs are lacking. Good luck Reed, hope you will be in a Cub uni come July!

I think Sam Fuld, if nothing else, can fill the “always give 100%” off the bench in the outfield this year.

Hate to see him go, and am worried about Nady’s 2X TJ arm. But onward we go …

Hopefully the magic of modern medicine doesn’t let Nady or the Cubs down.

All I got to say is good luck reed! He may not have the best bat, but he has heart, and that just seems to be hard to find today…
