Enhanced Box Score: Astros 3, Cubs 2 – April 18, 2010
Cubs anal. For explanation, see here. It’s the season in a microcosm: offense fails to come through with any kind of regularity or predictability, the starter throws a brilliant game only to see the bullpen blow it, and the Cubs lose to a team they should be pounding.
Enhanced Box Score: Astros 4, Cubs 3 – April 17, 2010
Clearly, if you’re going to watch only one inning in each game this season, the inning to watch is the 8th. Roy Oswalt was dealing, and the Cubs came up short. And there were some same old issues.
Enhanced Box Score: Astros 2, Cubs 7 – April 16, 2010
That was actually a much closer call than the score leads on. The Cubs were basically being dominated by … Felipe Paulino? I guess it could be worse – they could have been owned by Carlos Silva. I kid, I kid. But seriously, who is this guy? I think most folks would say that Silva [...]

Cubs Planning to Call Up Andrew Cashner?
It’s no secret that the Chicago Cubs’ bullpen is a disaster right now. It’s full of inexperienced youngsters who don’t appear to have the confidence necessary to hammer down late inning leads. While everyone bandies about a possible solution – when starter Ted Lilly returns, at least one veteran is going to get bumped from [...]
Ted Lilly Will Make One More Rehab Start
Chicago Cubs pitcher Ted Lilly will make one more minor league rehab start before rejoining the Cubs. Lilly had hoped to come back after Wednesday’s game, his first rehab start. Lilly will start on Monday in Peoria, Ill. for the Single-A Chiefs. If he throws without mishap, he’s on target to pitch next weekend against [...]
Enhanced Box Score: Brewers 8, Cubs 6 – April 15, 2010
Shame on you for hoping for a sweep. Once again, the leaky bullpen helps out the opposition.
