Enhanced Box Score: Cubs 2, Pirates 4 – May 5, 2010
Ted Lilly was not the problem today – I want to be clear on that. However, he was not impressive, and has not been yet since his return to the Cubs. It’s a concern. The problem – AGAIN – is the focus of today’s enhancement.
Obsessive Ramirez Suck Watch: Aramis About to Get Bumped Down the Lineup
After more than a month of terrible performance, Chicago Cubs third baseman Aramis Ramirez is going to head down the lineup. How far he falls is up to manager Lou Piniella, but it’s unlikely to be more than a spot or two. One thing is for certain: until he starts hitting again – or at [...]
Enhanced Box Score: Cubs 2, Pirates 3 – May 4, 2010
Freaking Cubs. Apparently they used up all of their offense against the Diamondbacks, and while I desperately want to point out in the box score that the Cubs, individually, left 18 on base while the Pirates left on just 5, I’ve pointed that out too many times already this year. That’s not a dig on [...]
Series Preview: Cubs v. Pirates, May 4 – May 6, 2010
The Chicago Cubs head out to Pittsburgh to take on the always scrappy (read: crappy) Pirates. A refresher on the series preview here at Bleacher Nation: The idea is to hook you up with the bare minimum of what you need to know about every series this year streaks, lineups, game times, broadcast schedule, etc. [...]
Still Want to Boo Alfonso Soriano?
The obvious answer is no – not that you should have been booing him in the first place. But remember this moment the next time Soriano drops a fly ball, or strikes out on a breaking ball fifteen feet out of the zone. A notorious free swinger, Soriano has been working with hitting coach Rudy [...]
The St. Louis Cardinals Cannot Be Defeated in the NL Central
The other teams in the National League Central might as well pack it in for the year, because the St. Louis Cardinals have already won the division. Apparently. It’s May 3 on the calendar, and the Cardinals are only 25 games into the schedule. But I’d like to submit this question: In the National League [...]
Enhanced Box Score: Diamondbacks 5, Cubs 10 – May 2, 2010
The Chicago Cubs managed to win three straight against the Diamondbacks, and actually took a series against a team other than the Brewers. Tom Gorzelanny finally gets a win, and the offense once again throttled D-Back pitching.

Laughing Because It Isn’t the Cubs: Actually, Milton Bradley is Making it Hard to Laugh
By Brett on May 6, 2010
Early yesterday, it was very easy to laugh at the travails of Milton Bradley and the eternally hopeful Seattle Mariner fans. Bradley, who is plodding through another disappointing season on the field, was 0-3 with two strikeouts on Tuesday when he decided it was time to pull a Bradley. According to reports, Bradley began jawing [...]
