Why it's a lot tougher to sell guys for value now than you might think, even if they offer their new team more starts in 2013.

It turns out the Cubs might not have done it if they'd known the extent of Shawn Camp's injury.

Each of The Big Three were in action yesterday, finally, and each had a notable performance. Also: looking ahead to the second round of the Draft.

Doesn't matter if you hold them to one. Can't win if you don't score.

It’s nice for Koyie Hill that he got a couple of hits, but why was he even playing? If you are going to give Soto the day off, why isn’t Wellington Castillo out there? Hill won’t be on the Cubs next year, we aren’t sure about Castillo yet. It seems like common sense to me that with 16 games to go in a lost season that you would get the guys that might play for you next year some playing time to see what you have. Playing aging vets who wont be back (Nady too) screams desperation and self preservation from our mangaer. Quade is the perfect manager for JIm Hendry, do what you have to do to keep your job and make yourself look good, regardless of what is good for the future of the team.
Jeff nailed it. We should create a bumpersticker: “Everything Is Backwards With Hendry.”
