Obsessive New Manager Watch: Hendry Praising Quade
As you should know by now, when something reaching “obsessive watch” status, that means you’re going to get every tidbit I can find shoved down your throat. Like it or lump it. Please like it. Chicago Cubs general manager Jim Hendry is tossing some heavy praise in the direction of current interim manager, and overt [...]
Aramis Ramirez: Yeah, Never Mind What I Said the Other Day, I’m Coming Back Next Year
Chicago Cubs third baseman Aramis Ramirez cleared things up yesterday regarding his intentions for 2011, after the day before muddying the waters by suggesting he may yet decide to opt-out of his contract and leave this winter. Chris Archer is Cubs’ Pitcher of the Year, Brandon Guyer is Cubs’ Player of the Year
The Chicago Cubs’ organization handed out some hardware yesterday, awarding AA pitcher Chris Archer Pitcher of the Year, and awarding Brandon Guyer Player of the Year. Both are still playing, as AA Tennessee heads to the Southern League Championship Series beginning today. Chris Archer was something of a no-brainer for Pitcher of the Year after [...]

The Chicago Cubs have started the process of interviewing candidates for their managerial opening, but they aren’t the only team looking for a new manager in 2011. Among teams with openings are the Seattle Mariners, whose ownership [...]
Mike Quade Clearly Doesn’t Understand the Point of Putting Tyler Colvin at First Base
Don’t hold your breath if you’re waiting to see what Tyler Colvin looks like at first base. Well, don’t hold your breath, or show up a few hours before the game. Tyler Colvin will continue to take grounders at first, but the rookie outfielder is not expected to see any action there any time soon. [...]
Enhanced Box Score: Cubs 0, Brewers 2 – September 12, 2010
Casey Coleman had a nice outing; though, given the Brewers’ performance against Ryan Dempster and Carlos Zambrano this weekend, it’s possible that they just don’t have it right now. Of course, the performance was for naught, as the Cubs offense reminded us of their 2010 roots.
