A day after noting the ever-growing list of former Chicago Cubs prospects (of a decidedly middle tier) who’ve left the team in favor of joining the Baltimore Orioles, one of those former prospects is on his way back.

Utility player Scott Moore, who was unceremoniously traded a couple years ago in a package for (guh) Steve Trachsel, signed a minor league deal with the Cubs. Moore, 27, split time between the Orioles’ big club and its AAA team last year, hitting very well at AAA, and very poorly in the Majors. Moore will likely get a chance to make the team out of Spring Training before whiling away the hours in AAA Iowa.
