At last, the long-awaited Chicago Cubs TV schedule for the 2011 season is here. Among the highlights, you’ll be able to see the entire May series against the Red Sox (WGN, Fox, and ESPN) and a couple national games against the Yankees.
In total, at least 8 games will be on Fox, at least 60 games will be on WGN (an increase of 2 from 2010, which was the lowest on WGN in a long time), 81 on CSN and CSN+, and 8 on WCIU. Another handful will end up on ESPN throughout the year.

Can’t wait to get this season under way! I think the way this teams chemistry is coming together they will be more driven, more focused, and play with a bit of a chip on their shoulder. With a manager that wasn’t a popular hire, but with a qualified resume. You have an outfield full of potential but has under performed being challenged by a young up and comer. With Aramis and Pena being in important points in their careers you should expect some production out of them. Castro should also be exciting to watch this year. Add in some personal stories like Soriano’s mom passing and Zambrano adopting a child this could add extra fuel to their fire. Not saying that we’re going to win the series, but this team could be very fun to watch. For some reason it reminds me of 89’, yeah I was only 9 then but this season we might be saying “Cubs Power!” Go Cubs!
I agree. I’m not expecting much but it is one of those teams that could surprise the heck out of everybody. I think it will be a fun season and, if they don’t contend, then we’ll see some good young kids and I would expect alot of trade deadline activity with aging vets due to be free agents – setting the stage for 2012. But if the starting pitching comes together like it might well do and with an excellent bullpen, this team could be a major surprise. I’m very excited and am willing to accept whatever way it goes as, for the first time in my life, I think they have a game plan that is a blueprint taken from the good franchises. There are alot of little things being done that are fantastic…new spring training facility the equal of any, enhanced player development staff and signing money, more and better scouts, enhanced facilities for the team will be coming to Wrigley, Triangle Building, more revenue streams, unloading fat contracts is coming up. And, I must say, I think Quade has a whacky sense about him that plays well in a pressure cooker like Chicago. They did well with him for a reason – not luck.
Right on. If you’ve got the right attitude, this season could be a lot of fun. If you expect a winner and will accept nothing less, you’ll be miserable. If you have a little hope, enjoy trade rumors, and like seeing youngsters get a shot, then 2011 will be a good year. I’m pretty excited.
damn I’m old..I was in college in 89…Wood helps tremendously in this department..he and Dempster are true clubhouse guys…problem is, from what I hear Siva is an absolute turd…and Zambrano is bad as well(obviously)…stick to the old adage…winning=good chemistry…….nobody ever says, “our team is really bad, but at least they have great chemistry”
That was the motto of my softball team.
Your softball team had loftier aspirations. The motto for my softball team was “our team is really bad, but at least we bring the beer”
