I really hate how people are talking about the off season when the season hasn’t even began…I couldn’t care less if we sign Pujols or not. I mean fine if we do, but he shouldn’t eat our budget away for 10 years either. Wanna win? Less money to get good talent to surround you.

I agree 100% with Olney: the Pujols situation actually comes at a very good time for Cub fans. We get a litmus test…either Ricketts is going to be a winner, or he’s going to be like P.K. Wrigley and the Trib (content to spend juuuuuust enough to keep some fans in bthe seats and make a tidy profit.)

To me it’s awesome, because of the Black and White/all-or-nothing nature of it; if he LANDS Pujols, he’s the real thing. If Pujols signs with any other team, I may just stop following the Cubs…I can’t take another 40 years of pain.
