Friday the 13th WHAT. Good starting pitching performance? Check. Good production at the top of the lineup? Check. Good situational hitting? Check.
The Cubs just made my evening – is that sad, or awesome?

The implications for the Cubs and/or the Ricketts Family are unclear, but probably not serious, if they exist at all. I think. Well, I hope.

Since the cubs scored 11 today they’ll probably only score 2 the rest of the series.
Very surprised, but Ill take it.
Also, all hail our dark lord Koyie Hill as he has 4 RBIs in 3 games played.
Geovany who!
Castro then Barney …wasn’t it about two weeks ago or so when Quade went all Pinella and started messing with the line up. At least we were 500 then.
Oh geez. I do hope Quade learned his lesson. Seeing as how this season has gone though, probably not.
yes if he changes one two in the next few weeks Q has no business managing
first a platoon of Reed and Fuku would be better then Fuku playing most of the time. in fact Reed playing more, period, would be better. he’d add some speed, instincts, hustle, and he has some pop in his bat, etc. same with Baker, game at 1B, 3B, and RF (Reed in LF) would help. would give those other guys some rest and take the pressure off these highly overpaid professionals.
I’d leadoff with Castro, Barney, and bat your RBI man 3rd, that’s Aram, follow with Baker or Baker then aram. blind pick the rest of this line up.
I totally agreed. Platooning Reed and Fuku would probably take the pressure off of Fuku to perform and hopefully shy away from the terrible May he usually has had in previous seasons.
Am I crazy or is this the second time in a week the Cubs have scored 11 without a home run?
Can’t it be both?
It could be both!
Damnit. I missed this. I suck.
That’s alright, Ace. You can’t be expected to be on your computer 24/7. I just couldn’t resist the comment.
It was the quintessential zinger.
I continue to love your enhanced box scores. You are the shit, Ace.
Thanks, Lance. That is sincerely always nice to hear.
You definitely should have highlighted the Cubs 7-14 with RISP, not a relief pitcher.
That’s not how the enhancement works. It’s not always about highlighting the most obvious or even most important thing.
Plus, the fact that the Cubs had timely hitting was discussed in the body.
In this instance, I found it interesting how badly Affeldt was stomped. And funny.
Okay. I still don’t understand what “Luiz.” is supposes to mean though.
“Lulz.” It’s a nerdy internet way of saying “ha ha,” which is part of the gag.
Ohh I get it now. I thought maybe it was a reference to someone named Luiz.
I hate that guy.
As long as you’re not talking about Luiz Guzman. You can hate any other Luiz.
Or maybe it’s Luis. Either way.
