I know that the Cubs didn’t help, what with the billion runs given up and all, but ESPN never met a Yankees game it couldn’t stretch out over three and a half freaking hours. Did you know that the Yankees are the greatest team in the history of sports? I think they just won the Stanley Cup!
You know who I didn’t like when he was with the White Sox? Nick Swisher.

Stopped watching after Swishers 3 run shot but from what I read on twitter seems like the Cubs were there same old selves.
Why is Swisher a douche? Not disagreeing just curious.
I didn’t think it was possible to like the Yankees less than I already did. On a positive note, I hope all you dads still had a nice Father’s Day.
James Russell sucks..the best part of him ran down his moms leg!…the cubs had this game tonite..I question quade’s ability to manage in the big leagues we’ve had way to many opportunity to win games..why in the fuck does he still pitch Russell Coleman there stuff isnt there! Doesn’t make since!…shit iam almost through with this team..also all you fucks out that doubted soriano ..look whos carring the team..he’s hot since coming off the DL.. The Cubs pretty much gave the game to yankees! Wells actually pitched a great game…once again only to lead us to a lose! I blame poor managing in this one
Oh yeah, that’s what’s supposed to happen when the Cubs play the Yankees.
Hogie we’ve played well in the series up until tonite..I like the way we’ve played the first 2 games
I absolutely agree! I just think that the recent play is more the exception than the rule. I would love it if I was wrong, and this is the beginning of the team coming alive. I just dont think that’s the truth.
Tonite was a quade loss..not the cubs I question his judgment
Is it me or is Swisher the biggest douche ever
Can you explain why he is a douche? I must of missed something. I was barely watching the game and after he hit his homer I turned the game off.
I will explain….Have you seen him?
So no distinct acts of douche baggery? He just looks like a douche?
He’s just always seemed like a douche. That’s all.
He just can’t get over himself. After he hit that HR, he was grinning about it the rest of the game. He went yard off a rookie and he had the demeanor of someone that had hit back to back bombs off of the 1993 Greg Maddux.
He’s good at baseball but he hasn’t exactly got that “act like you’ve done this before” thing down.
the cubs should advertise to opposing teams:
“Is your player in a slump? Then come to Wrigley Field! We have the cure. Look at our case studies of Albert Pujols and Nick Swisher.”
Best way for this particular team to make money.
Serio he’s a douche bag…
MLB trade rumors states hendry likes jose Reyes ..look out here comes a 7 yr 140 mil contract…lol
All I see is a random comment from someone who isn’t affiliated with MLBTR that Hendry might offer him a big contract. That doesn’t really mean anything.
That’s all I see too, never seen a legitimate source report this… It really doesn’t make sense with Castro locked into SS.
You just said it MG – it doesn’t make sense – I don’t like those odds with Hendry around!!!
Link please, I don’t see that on mlbtraderumors.com. I would really like to see that story.
I have a vision of other GMs circling the Cub’s front office like vultures over a carcass in the desert. Then, one by one, they swoop down and pick off player after player in one bad deal after another, each of them giving off a loud shrill squawk of victory as they fly away with their prey. At the end, the carcass is picked clean, only the maggots and flies remain to devour what is left, as Steve Goodman’s “A Dying Cubs Fan Last Request,” plays in the background and the first wrecking ball starts it’s swing to begin the demolition of Wrigley.
Is that dark or what???
Just toss in the children’s tears and you’ve got yourself a nice post-apocalyptic vision.

douche
I must say, It is nearly impossible for me to watch a game called on ESPN (or fox for that matter) anymore. When Sori went deep there was nothing but silence for at least 5 seconds, when Swisher does, they start making out in the press box. I get that we are a terrible team and the Yankees are the Yankees but some professionalism would be nice. To call it a great game in the 6th inning and then say “For those of you sticking around the couches & stadium just to see Rivera, sorry he isn’t coming in” is one of the biggest examples of duche baggery I’ve seen in a while. I can just imagine middle-management at ESPN pushing the Mo is a first-ballot HOF’er about 70 times in the pre-game meeting.
Amen!! I have to turn the volume down, or keep a barf bucket next to my recliner.
Every time I watch on Fox or ESPN I always turn it down and listen to some podcasts.
how good a prospect is DJ Lemahieu? he looks pretty good to me…just his demeanor and the way he stands in at the plate. I think we got a keeper in that kid. And to all who are wondering if this team can make a run…what season are u talking about? you talking about 2003 season on baseball simulator game or the real life 2011 cubs? cause if it’s the latter put the koolaid down and grab a dose of reality. this team is toast and has been for a while…watched the Brewers/Sox yesterday and Prince Fielder looks to be in great shape. Not sure if he’s wearing a less baggy uniform these days or what but he looks in great shape. 27 yrs old cleanup hitter would look mighty fine next year in blue pinstripes!
LeMahieu is a legitimate prospect, if not a great one. He’s got a future in the bigs – the question is whether he’s got the glove to handle 2B full-time or the bat to handle 3B full-time. He reminds me a lot of Blake DeWitt in that way.
