The Cubs’ offense was once again nearly non-existent, while the pitching was solid until late.
Randy Wells capped his 2011 season by dropping his ERA just under five, but a couple late homers doomed his start.
And so ends the 2011 series with the Cardinals…

I’m gonna be very disappointed if the Cards make it into the post season; knowing that the Cubs could have very easlily won this series.
next year Garza, Wells, Coleman starters?…maybe keep Dempster and Lopez?…..Zambrano gone?…below free agent pitcher list as of start of season not promising..one or more may have since cemented long term deal also…not all starters either….so need to find at least 2 starters from our current 40 man roster or minors…ugly future

Chris Carpenter just signed an extension with the Cards.& several of the decent names have options.
second verse same shitty results, reason number 101 why quade is a dipshit manager; lets see, we have ample arms in the bullpen, three games left on the season, wells gives up a bomb to tie it after we had just taken the lead back, so i ve got a great idea, lets trot wells right back out for the eight, quade you are such a stupid shit! i have said it before, if mike quade is the manager of this team in 2012, i will do everything in my power to root against the cubs organization and will laugh hysterically at their continued little league caliber of play! i have been a lifelong cub fan for my 37 years on this planet but enough is enough. quade has no business whatsoever managing my daughter’s softball team let alone a minor league baseball team such as the Chicago Cubs! my advice, fire quade as soon as heath bell records the final out of our season and tell my dummy to find his own way back. we will have the number 6 pick the way it stands now in next years draft and the number one pick the following year once ramirez, pena, dempster, and zambrano no longer put on the cubbie blue next year.
