Jeff Samardzija was better than Adam Wainwright.

The implications for the Cubs and/or the Ricketts Family are unclear, but probably not serious, if they exist at all. I think. Well, I hope.

Other Ricketts siblings reportedly want to explore a move, fearing that the renovation framework will be altered in ways harmful to the Cubs.

Some signings - like second rounder Rob Zastryzny - about which we'd already heard were also announced.

Everyone is wondering what the pitching trade market is going to look like - it could be thin or robust. That could impact the Cubs greatly.

Haha.
I bet they love playing in a town known for having huge sausage fest’s.
KC…..ROFL!!!!!!!!!
Bonus Blackout Cubbetry!!!
Exactly what the doctor ordered was a little levity and comic relief from the hourly Garza Grind. Well done, Brett…you may now take a bow.
“Ya got my cheese wiz boy?” … ahhhhh … wit, wisdom, humor … the joy of being a Cub fan !!!!
Green Bay is Milwaukee (sowwy – I had to) on PEDS.
Brett – as ever, you and your peeps ROCK !!
QT @pgammo: Congratulations to Merill and Jed Hoyer on the birth of their son Beckett.
Could be the reason no movement today.
I wonder if tomorrow will pick up steam?
Father of 4 says, “Mothers Day is 9 months after Fathers Day” … congrats to the Hoyers if, for once, Gammons is on target. The Hoyers, Sharps, and Scotts got their tax deduction in under the wire.
Brett you do realize that there is alot of Cubs fans from wi who are also Packer fans and im 1 of them sounds like somebody is a little salty over the championship game last year. The Cubs will win a worldseries before the Bears ever win a superbowl again. In closing I would venture to say that Cutler is a pole smoker not Rodgers lmao
[Edit - Wow. That is unbelievably inappropriate and intolerable.]
A packers fan with anger issues and a lack of education? Color me shocked…
I’m not even a Bears fan and I am stunned by your unabashed ignorance. Wow, just wow!
I usually stay out of the stupid on here, but whoever you are Taylor:
1. that would be “too bad”, not “to bad”
2. I have nothing against the phrase shit-box, but it doesn’t really work in this context
3. bears should be capitalized
4. where to begin with your depiction of ”the best running back of all-time”…wow….did you ever here the story about the guy who called Liberace a name like you just used?….Liberace beat the crap out of him….there’s all kinds of differences in this world baby and when you use words like that, it will come back to bite you…good luck with that though…
Taylor,
You were obviously upset about Brett’s post. That’s understandable, but to lash out like that it is so obvious that you are misinformed or in a hateful state of mind. You may think that you are hurting other people with comments like that but in truth you are hurting yourself. May God have mercy on your soul.
DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA BEAAARRRRSSSSSS
As a devout fan of both the Packers and Cubs, I do say I take offense to that, Brett. On the other hand, I’m sure you took offense to Urlacher and Briggs being split like pea soup by Aaron on Sunday.
Sooo…. Go Pack Go
Taylor uumm who did the Bears have at runningback that died of AIDS…..This paticular thread got me a little pissy too,but come on man get your facts right Gale Sayers still living ..Sweetness Walter Payton died of a kidney desiese if im not mistaken thats a low blow and not even a good blow!
Wait – Packers fans are Cubs’ fans too? Time for me to change baseball teams.
15-1 isn’t bad – sucks about that loss though
Go Cheifs. =[
Haha
Kyle Orton was good for something after all
Wth is spose to mean 63 miles seperate Chicago and Wisconson. When the Milwaukee Braves left there was a hole lot of people that became Cubsfans.I was raised a cubbies fan 84 was my first season havent change in 28 plus years why change now lol.
We’re just joking around – no reason to get your panties in a bunch. As a Packers’ fan, it may make it harder for you to think
Why is it so hard for people to just take a little joke?
More upset with Taylor then the origanal joke and the Cubs rumor mill in it self is stressfull lol
He’s an idiot and getting upset over what he said is just a waste of time.
Thanks for posting the Tweet – maybe Brett can give us a book report before calling it a night.
And for the record, while I will not cheer for the Pack for obvious reasons, I will be surprised if they don’t win it all. Also, I have no problem with Packers’ fans cheering for the Cubs – makes sense that we would have a strong following in WI after reading your explanation.
Go Browns!
Ugh, this post is just for giggles. Take it at its face value: tee hee, look, we took words out of context to make it look like Rodgers and Braun are ‘together.’ Aren’t we silly? Hehehe.
Instead, we have people getting all riled up and throwing pretty hostile words around, all because someone made fun of one of our sports teams? Yikes. Be a fan, but don’t be a meatball.
I for one find it funny, regardless of my allegiance to either/any club. It would be funny if he did the same thing with two Cubs players. Lighten up, peeps.
Ok keep in mind this is just a tweet ,but maybe Brett can work throygh the smokescreens and give us confirmation un this MLBInsideNews Scott Swaim
#Cubs source: Clubs final offers are in on Garza. Epstein and co. deciding which offer to go with. Expect a resolution soon.

Very nice, Mr. Brett. Those two are definitley packer fans…if you know what I mean…
You know Brett……there would not be this sort of lashing out at each other if you would have done a she-view article instead of blackout. Just sayin
Gotta wait for the season…
I grew up in WI and am a die hard Packer fan AND Cubs fan. Quite frankly I found this post pretty funny. I love the Packer/Bears rivalry and the online banter is great, but no need to lash out at other people. This is just good old fashion fun! Go packers, Go cubs.
I believe I am the first BN patron to sport his/her Bleacher Nation shirt on his gravatar. O Yeah!!! Unfortunately my wife cut my head off. If she had cut it completely off, the picture would have looked a lot better.
You beat me too it MB!
Nice!
Brett, well done!
Thanks, Phil, but I almost can’t take credit. This one created itself…
Looks like I missed some more late night douchebaggery. I can piece together what was written and it sounds incredibly insulting and bigoted. Good job Brett in nipping that one in the bud.
It’s nearly worthless to try and comment past 9pm EST anymore. The day shift still has some quality discussion but the late shift is just becoming tiresome and a little scary as you get to see the psyche of some these posters, yikes!
The night shift has been pretty iffy for a month or two…
Oh until Brett makes this happen: STALK
Well played, sir!
Another classless article from this blog. Cross you’re fingers and toes and pray you don’t end up with egg on you’re face.
Yet you continue coming to the site? That’s adorable.
