Today the Chicago Cubs welcome the Los Angeles Angels (of Anaheim (California (Earth (Milky Way)))) to Hohokam Park as Spring Training winds down. Paul Maholm gets the start for the Cubs, his final regular Spring outing before the season starts.
And, yes, Albert Pujols is in the lineup for the Angels. Hit four homers today, Albert, because I don’t much care what you do anymore.
The game is at 3:05 CT and will be broadcast on CSN, MLB Network, MLB.tv, and WGN radio. The game thread lives here at the Message Board.
The Cubs lineup features the probable configuration at the top when Starlin Castro sits out:
1. David DeJesus, RF
2. Darwin Barney, SS
3. Ian Stewart, 3B
4. Jeff Baker, 2B
5. Bryan LaHair, 1B
6. Reed Johnson, LF
7. Steve Clevenger, C
8. Joe Mather, CF
9. Ryan Dempster, P

Interesting No Byrd
I checked my TV guide today and it looks like the Cubs game will also be on MLBN at 2. I’m out here in Colorado, so I’m not sure if they will have different games on MLBN depending on where you live, but check your guides!
Is Dempster starting or is Maholm?
Paul Maholm should be the starter. Dempster will just be batting for him though
Didn’t castro and Byrd have days off within the last week?
Why not rest for opening day, or maybe they wont get a break because of the first couple series being tougher than the ones after. It seems like the kinda choice that would be made by the new FO and management. I agree with keeping Da Jesus starting though, the dude seems to need more looks to get comfortable after the bad spring he had. Hopefully something starts to click.
soriano is also out.
3:00 CT on MLBN
Nice!
Does anybody have recent pictures of the new LED screen and the new seats in the right field bleachers?
Here one of the last bullets http://www.bleachernation.com/2012/03/30/now-we-know-who-the-9th-starter-is-and-other-bullets/
Darn, Barney is showing he cant be depended on to back up at short.
Never thought DeWitt would play 1st base. What gives with him? He seems to be playing all over the field. He’s played outfield, second and third.
He has to compete for a job with Mather now and since Mather is all over the field he has to try and show that he can as well. That is my guess anyway.
