Friday Night Funnies: Cubs Versus White Sox, Ron Versus Darryl

A few weeks ago, we saw a blessed sight: Ron Swanson (aka Nick Offerman from ‘Parks and Rec’) decked out as a Cubs fan. He was dressed that way, not only because he’s probably a huge Cubs fan, but also because he was filming a commercial for New Era, where he squared off against Darryl Philbin (aka Craig Robinson from ‘The Office’).

The commercial is hilarious and awesome:

Sitting next to Dallas Beeler, super nice guy. We have a pitchers duel here folks McNutt v. Martin

And that’s why I love the minors.

Parks and Rec is the funniest show on TV right now, “You may have thought you heard me say I wanted a lot of bacon and eggs, but what I said was: Give me all the bacon and eggs you have”.

“I have been developing the Swanson Pyramid of Greatness for years. It’s a perfectly calibrated recipe for maximum personal achievement. Categories include: Capitalism, God’s way of determining who is smart, and who is poor. Crying, acceptable at funerals and the Grand Canyon. Rage. Poise. Property rights. Fish, for sport only, not for meat. Fish meat is practically a vegetable.”

Is this the same Ron Swanson who takes up all my space on my phone so I can barely catch up with Pro Sports Daily? GREAT!

Pro Sports Daily? I stopped checking that last year in spring training. MLB Trade Rumors blows it away.

More importantly, Bleacher Nation is the best site for all things Cubs. You get every update from the other sites, plus links if you want to follow those rabbit trails. I don’t know why a Cubs fan goes anywhere else first: there’s no need.

“I won’t publicly endorse a product unless I use it exclusively. My only official recommendations are U.S. Army issued mustache trimmers, Morton’s salt, and the C.R. Lawrence Fein two inch axe-style scraper oscillating knife blade.”

I had the pleasure of seeing Nick Offerman do stand up on Thursday night and he actually talked about the Cubs a little bit. I do believe that he actually is a huge Cubs fan. He was also hilarious by the way.

I am a total Cubs fanatic. I totally know that Bretts Bleacher Nation is the place to go for the latest Cubs news. As a fanatic I check every website that writes anything about the team I live and die with. BLEACHER NATION is the site I always check first.
