Pre-Gamin’: Reds v. Cubs (12:05 CT) – Lineups, Broadcast Info, etc.

Another day, another chance to end a losing streak.

In the Series Preview, I noted that maybe this will be the start for Paul Maholm to break out, given that he might be able to neutralize the two top lefty bats in the Reds’ lineup, Joey Votto and Jay Bruce. I said that without know that Bruce is just 2 for 15 in his career against Maholm, and Votto just 3 for 20 (though Bruce’s two hits were both homers). So, maybe I’ll be right. That would be nice for at least two reasons.

And, hey, what do you know? It looks like Maholm has already neutralized Bruce – he’s not starting today. Also not starting today: Marlon Byrd, Geovany Soto, and Alfonso Soriano.

Let’s do the damn thing! I’m sick of losing.

Our Cub payroll has 3 pitchers in top E.R.A. standings. Garza-Dempster-and Zambrano.

  3. CastrotoBarneytoLaHair

Would like to see Clevenger get a couple starts in a row instead of just a spot start here and there. Here’s hopin’…

That lineup makes Abner Doubleday spin in his grave. Though the general is a little confused about his situation, having had nothing to do with baseball in life.

    well Cevenger is starting today

I know…my point was to see him in the lineup again tomorrow, then Monday, then Tuesday…instead of for the purpose of giving Geo a day off…

Time for bryd and soto to go…. We have people to replace them

  7. Jay Anderson Jr

Why is Dewitt in LF and Mather in CF. Why call up Campana and not start him. Dewitt…..LF…..Over Campana……ARE YOU SERIOUS.

    1. ty

They did not send Campy a ticket. He is running this way!

“It’s not often you get a chance to end a six game losing streak”

Brett, I want whatever it is you put in your ‘cub cool-aid’

I have NEVER met someone so positve. Keep it up.

Side note: This team may take the words ‘not often’ out of your sentence.

Just curious, but does anyone else think that Clevenger’s catchers ERA is not an accident? If that is the case, I’d love to see what happens with Shark and Volstad pitching to him a few more times.

It’s something to watch. He’s caught way to few of games to draw any conclusions from, but he appears to handle pitchers well, especially considering he’s a converted infielder.

yeah, I was just thinking about today’s start. Good point.
