It’s the Cubs versus Roy Halladay tonight in Philadelphia, and obviously he’s a tough nut to crack. You almost have to hope he’s off his game, because even if you’re on yours, you still might not hit him. Paul Maholm will try to string together back-to-back solid starts. The Phillies’ lineup is one against whom you can do that.
It’s a national game tonight on MLBN (and CSN), so get your watchin’ on.
Game Info
Chicago Cubs (6-13) at Philadelphia Phillies (9-10), 6:05pm CT on CSN and MLBN.

Doc Holiday with our very own scout Tim Wilken responsible for his draft.
I will be sitting behind home plate and only one wearing a Cub hat as I am following team for awhile
“(3-1, 1.50 ERA, 0.0% HR/FB rate, .213 BABIP, 82.8 LOB% (see if you can figure why I posted those three))”
you posted them because they’re luck numbers! and not sustainable!
Clearly the Cubs are gonna score 15 runs tonight!
BAM! Nailed it!

A little reminder of why where all Cubs Fans
Didn’t the Cubs do really well against Halladay last year?
I’m pretty sure they did. Halladay had a “Heat Stroke” or something?
Ha, Halladay is on my fantasy team…I hope he gives up 2 but pitches like…8 or 9 innings.
Cubs win, 2-1.
I’m confused. Is THIS game thread?
The one on the Message Board, kemosabe.
The link to the Game Thread will always be in the Pre-Gamin’ post. But some folks don’t like to do the Message Board thing, so the Pre-Gamin’ post becomes kind of like a secondary, mini game thread.
Wow that was a terrible display of hitting. Halladay just made LaHair, Sori, and Stewart look terrible. LaHair chased 2 pitches, Sori chased 3, and Stewart chased 1. They need to be patient against Halladay.
They havent shown patience all year, probably not gonna see it against Doc
I can’t post on the game thread:( Any suggestions?
Sign in to the Message Board and get going!
I am signed it, it shows my name but says I cannot post on this topic.
First Blood!
Hey Brett, when you get a chance can you see if there is a problem with my account validation? I can’t post on the message boards (used to be able to) and its saying my account hasn’t been validated.
I don’t have an explanation for what changed, but you should be good to go (just validated you).
Thanks, its nice to feel validated.
the more i see campana play the more i like him, needs to play over dejesus, campana not going to hit hrs, but watching dejesus play i dont think he will hit over 5 hrs this season, and he cant steel bases, campana the perfect leadoff hitter, hopefully we trade dejesus at the deadline
Dejesus started the game with a .385 OBP. Pretty good for a leadoff hitter.
This guy gets it
What exactly is your definition of a “perfect leadoff hitter”?
Just a quick thought. Another advantage of having Campana on base. LaHair saw more fastballs in that AB then he had all night because Halladay did not want Campana to steal second base.
Come see C.B. Buckner and his magical moving strikezone! Now you see it, now you don’t! Brenly called him a joke on air, that’s awesome.
Maholm is the Mahan. He outdueled Halladay! What a great game.
Halladay doesn’t fair well against the cubs. I think his record is 1-5 against us.
