It’s the Battle of Beautiful Locks tonight as Jeff Samardzija’s wild mane takes on Bronso Arroyo’s well-coiffed perm. Still. Again. However you want to say it.

Guys, we cannot lose to a man sporting a perm. You’re better than that.
I’m still trying to get completely won over by Shark, let’s hope tonights the night
Come on Mick6! Give in to the many charms of Shark. The flowing hair, the brash confidence. Pretend he’s pitching just for you.
Mick, did he win you over tonight?
AGGHHHH UGGHHH WHAT THE HELL BLAKE DEWITT THREE NIGHTS IN A ROW GRRR IM SO ANGRY THIS DALE SVEUM GUY DOESN’T KNOW WHAT HEA DOING ITS QUADE ALL OVER AGAIN AHHHHH!!!
just kidding
Other than Lahair, the rest of tonight’s starters have combined for two home runs. It’s time for a power surge.
A lot of these guys, like Stewart, are hitting the ball. It is just going right to the gloves of the other team’s. The more the Cubs hit, the more likely the ball will fly out of the park more.
Have a good feeling about this game. Would have been great had De-1/2-Witt not been named starter for the game. At least LaHair is starting and not Baker…
Besides SS, would you take every Reds player over the Cubs player at the same position?
I like Garza over any other Reds pitcher.
As crazy as it sounds, Soriano might be better than their LF platoon. If we include minors leagues, I’d take Jackson over Stubbs. Or Jackson over their LF platoon.
Yeah, LaHair. You are a pretty good triple A player!
In the bottom of the 2nd when soriano got to 3rd him and listach had a half ass hand shake and instantly I thought a caption for it was “hi! Welcome to 3rd base, haven’t seen you here much…are you new?”
Haha.
The batter right after stewart made the barehand play soto tried to reach up and snag a foul tip as if he had to 1 up stewart…I’m trying to figure out soto’s hair still as if he’s the next top model with the hair flips
bong water.
Finally, Ian catches a break!
Can some one explain why they aren’t going to play a Double Header this series. Also, does anyone know when the make game is.
They havnt said anything yet, most likely it will be the next time the Cubs go to Cincinnati, I believe they only have one more road trip over there left in the season.
They aren’t playing it now because the Reds will want to do a day night double header to protect their gate and it is a lot easier to get that all arranged and ensure a better crowd with more advanced planning than 2 days.
Also they mentioned on the broadcast tonight that there is some new rule that allows teams with late season double headers to bring up an extra pitcher so I am sure both the Reds and Cubs would rather wait to play the game if it means they can take advantage of that rule.
Ok. I see. I was thinking nownwas perfect timing for the Cubs since they still have Wells on the roster as well as Dempster coming back. They would have had to shuffle to much around.
Besides, I was hoping Wells could get another shot to save face after his last start
“Stat Sunday” blows my ass. And it’s Wednesday.
Another great start from Smardzija. Dolis is hitting 97 and making it look effortless. It’s just one game, but these Cubs are starting to look better already. Meanwhile Barney makes a one pitch out. Sigh.
This is Marmol’s last chance, I would think?.. I can’t see putting him out there in a save situation again if he loses this one tonight.
Hide yo kids hide yo wife but most importantly hide yo eyes. Marmol is in!!! He’s gonna save the game for the reds.
What do you call the opposite teams closer? Carlos marmol
and currently sporting a WHIP over 2 and a SO/BB of 0.67
(probably not a guy you want to put in with the game on the line)
