The Cubs head back to Milwaukee to take on the Brewers, while licking their West Coast wounds. The Cubs are having serious troubles on the road right now, but maybe Miller Park will feel close enough to home?
By way of reminder, the Series Preview hooks you up with what you need to know about every series this year – streaks, broadcast information, pitchers, expected lineups, etc. That way, if you want to check only one place to get a sense about an upcoming series, or to plan ahead, you’ve got it. Oh, and there are pictures of beautiful women, too.
We’re Going Streaking
The Cubs were just swept by the Giants out in San Francisco, so they may be fixing to go on another 12-game losing streak. The last one started the series after the Cubs took on …
The Brewers are hanging around in the NL Central, thanks in part to their performance, and in part to the struggles at the top of the Division. They just dropped a series to the Pirates, but, before that, swept the Dodgers in four. They’re six games under .500, but just 6.5 games out.

Hot or Not and Whom to Watch
Well, the Cubs’ bats remain all kinds of not hot. At least Bryan LaHair has a five-game hitting streak, and has six hits in his last 13 at bats.
Ryan Dempster is coming off his worst outing of the year, and has been in a bit of a rough stretch since mid-May.
Shawn Camp remains the Cubs’ best overall reliever, with a 2.54 ERA and 1.165 WHIP in 28.1 innings.
Ryan Braun has been dealing with an achilles issue, and he’s been quite bad with the bat for about two weeks now.
Yovani Gallardo is 3-1 with a 2.59 ERA in his last five starts.
Rickie Weeks is having a BAD year … he’s hitting just .170/.309/.308 in 220 plate appearances. At least that’s a ton of walks. Also, did you know he turns 30 this year? I bet you thought he was a lot younger than that, didn’t you? I did.
Series She-View
The Series She-View is one beautiful woman representing the Cubs taking on another (usually) beautiful woman representing the opponent. The Cubs’ representative will change as the team’s needs change – in other words, if the Cubs are winning, the rep will stay the same. But if the Cubs’ performance calls for a change, someone new will step in. The opponent’s representative will change from series to series, at my whim. But at least she’ll probably be wearing the opponent’s colors or have some connection to the team or something like that. It is immature, and the connection to baseball is tenuous at best. These things, I know.
It’s been a rough stretch for Cubs’ representatives, whom we’ve churned through from series to series without anyone sticking longer than two series. So it is again, as we’ve got to make a change after the Cubs were swept in San Francisco. How about Amanda Seyfried for the Cubs? There’s no Cubs connection, but she’s never been the rep, and I found a crazy hot picture of her in a blue (Cubs) dress.
As for the Brewers, like I always say: it’s gotta be a beautiful woman and a beer. In this case, that beautiful woman is apparently a (former?) model named Kayleigh Pearson. I had no idea who that was. I do now.

Versus

I just became a….. Brewers fan?
Didn’t Marissa Miller stick longer than two series? I thought she had 4 or 5?
Oh, ok, I’m re-reading that paragraph you’re talking about the stretch since Marissa Miller, not since the beginning of the season. I get it now.
The cubs usually play well in Milwaukee no matter how the season is going (I think/it seems)
My favorite kind of lady: one who drinks Guinness
Thanks Brett now I will be rooting for Brewers. Wow
No, no I still like Amanda, she looks like she would be awesome in the bedroom!!!
“…and has six hits in his last 13 at bats.”
-Whats funny is those 13 AB’s seem like they’ve been stretched across 2 weeks!
That’s because they have
“Oh my God, I have ESPN or something!” Amanda, you can be a mean girl to me any day off the week!!!
freakin awesome movie…
Hey that movie took place in the greater Chicago area, so there is your Cubs connection… because as we all know EVERYONE in Chicago is a Cubs fan… Also I think Amanda’s costar Lacey Chabert should make a She-view appearance…
We are so going to lose. Brett you are without question the Darwin Barney of the Series She View. You start out strong, Kate Upton, Kelly Brook and Marissa and then you peter out with a bunch of scawny runway model types. I believe one may have been an albino. Just my opinion but I believe the average Cub fan prefers a more — robust — representative. Bring out the Big-Guns, how about Francoise Boufhal or Gemma Atkinson.
I can’t believe the tribune ran survey on trading Castro. I can’t believethis BS over something so trivial. First off nobody can stay awake when your pitcher is walking 5 guys and. Is xlowrr than hell between pitches. I played major college baseball and for 5 years afterwards I know from experience your defense falls asleep and mistakes multiply. Its theoitchers fault for not throwing strikes period. All this talk about adhd add and whatever is bull crap. He is a top tier athlete playing for a loser 80% of the time. I don’t even know how he stays positive day in and out. If I was Castro I might welcome a trade. I gotta suck playing on a loser and he can’t fix it. Its not good for his development.
Damn you and your hot beer holding women!
We have massively hot side boob action vs hot chick with high beams holding beer. Damn I bet most of us are thinking, “I got wood.”
I don’t get the she-views dude. I guess the girls look hot and all, but why are they there? I’d understand if it were a superstitious thing like we’ve been winning with your stupid ‘reps’ in place, but we haven’t. And your picks have nothing to do with either team. I just don’t get it, .and I’m a dude, I love me some hot chicks, but I just don’t get why there are photos of them mixed in with my baseball info. Is it because you’re bored? How many people open the pre-games for the chicks?, cause I’m just here for baseball. You want to pick a hottie to represent the Cubs, pick a hot cubs fan from the stands, at least that makes a little more sense, to me at least.
It’s not everybody’s thing, and I get that. The good thing, if you’re just here for baseball, is that it’s at the very end of one out of every 15 to 20 posts, and it’s very easy to ignore if you’re not interested. It’s a tradition that started three seasons ago as a larf. It’s a pretty minor thing, but some people like it.
Why not figure out which proportion of the posters are more appreciative of men and provide a “he view” for that proportion of series?
Oh, there have been a handful of men in the history of the feature.
I have the distinct (displeasurable) memory of seeing Fat Elvis and his little dog for a Cards series last year. And LaRussa and his kittens.
But if you are going to do it to it right. The Cub’s rep needs to be hotter than the opposing teams rep and should weigh more than Soriano’s bat.
“It is immature, and the connection to baseball is tenuous at best. These things I know.” Gotta read the disclaimer bro. I can’t believe you need an excuse to see hot chicks on here. Hot chicks are like bacon they make everything better.
and yet WGN shows me girls every day….the conundrum…
lol yes they’re also bad for your health too.
Who cares why they’re there. It’s a fun little thing to add to the posts. If you don’t like it don’t look at it
I’m only here for the chicks.
Plus they love my BN t-shirt!
Kayleigh kicks Amandas ass, which is probably a foreshadowing of how this series will go, unfortunately.
“Ryan Braun has been dealing with an achilles issue, and he’s been quite bad with the bat for about two weeks now.”
Unfortunately a Cubs visit is just what the doctor ordered.
Girlfriend just asked why I was looking at porn…Told her we
Are going streaking
Regarding Castro Giant Mistake: I would sit Castro for 1 game and put Barney at SS with Adrian at 2nd base to make a point to Castroi
Brett, I think your favoring of anorexic looking chicks is largely responsible for the Cubs’ woes. They hit like underweight, drug-addled models. Give me a healthy, curvy, real woman with a beer in her hands any day over that chick on the top. You have doomed us to yet another series loss.
