There she blows.

Matt Garza was decent, if not economical, through five innings, but ran into trouble in the sixth, partly thanks to an error by late sub Joe Mather at third base. Mather screwed up a could-have-been double-play ball, and, since you can’t assume the double-play would happen, only one of the subsequent runs that scored counted as “unearned.” The bullpen came in and made sure the game turned into something more like a blowout.
