The Cubs shoved it in the White Sox’s face again, though in a more subtle way than last night. The Cubs took advantage of some White Sox mistakes and some lucky bounces to score their two runs, and the pitching made sure that was enough. Travis Wood was solid in his six innings of work, and the bullpen didn’t allow a run.
And, hey, the Cubs finally won a one-run game!

Anyone notice that Soriano saw 24 pitches in 4 ABs? Easily the best on the team. And against a studly RHP with nasty offspeed stuff.
SOMEONE MUST WANT HIM.
Strangely all sox fans at my work were absent tonight, they must’ve felt the impending shame that the gaggle of used douche nozzles that they ironically refer to as a baseball team was going to bring them.
yup even the trolls at ESPN were quiet lol….suckas…
Carl Radish is a tool as is everyone of them. MLB’s Millar couldn’t even pronounce Sveum. What week of the season are we in? Cmon Millar.
It’s real frustrating. I know we have a crappy team, but the media seems to hate the Cubs….
Also didn’t Sveum and Millar overlap in Boston? If I recall correctly?
Jake peavy got Ryan Dempstered last night, being he went 9 innings 1 earned run and took the loss
I guess I’ve never really watched Peavy pitch. Does he always yell that much? Or was it just frustration?
yes. He is always yelling. It is much worse when he is losing
Mere words cannot express how much I love listening to Hawk Harrelson whine and snivel. . The Sux are just SOOOO picked on. He is such a jerk.
Best moment, as ChiSox regarded their last out I was on the phone w/ my college best friend an unrepentant Sox fan when I told him; “this is a sweet win, Cubs just knocked you black hose wearing complainers out of First Place!” he laughed and replied, “But the Cubs are still in last place”, yeah, and…..I began to reply and then there was dial tone….
