How about a sweep, gents?
Randy Wells gets his second chance filling in for Ryan Dempster, which he did about a month ago with mostly poor results.

eeeeeeeeeeeenteresting
Crap, I can’t find my broom… (= Nothing would kill Gawk (not a typo) more than to see the Cubs win this one against his precious Sux!
I like your nickname for Hawk. I prefer to call him Cawk.
Cooper: Your nickname for that idiot is awesome! Hahaha!
I vote Cawk!
how bout crawk
The past 2 games I’ve been switching between both cubs/sox channels to see Hawk complain. Believe it or not, Stone has been much more obnoxious then Hawk. Hawk has actually been more tolerable. Pay attention tonight if you guys have the chance.
I noticed that during last nights game. Harrelson was still annoying as heck, but not as bad. Maybe the “talk” with Selig calmed him down a bit. However, Steve Stone is a douche.
They bashed every player except Castro and Barney too.
Stoney talking about the Cubs has to be a lot like most people talking about one of their exes: and one of the ones with whom the breakup was not really amicable. He really was a good announcer back in the day, but I think that his real goal was to be a GM, and that just never happened.
Not sure there are many left he would have issue with anymore though, right?
Sweep the Leg! You crack me up Brett, I love your website but I never comment. Thanks for your work; Its my first stop every time I open firefox.
best site for your all your adult cheap sex toys for women balls requirements
aww look brett, you’re getting chinese lame spam now. Really movin up in the world.
What? No link?
NO DON’T SWEEP THE LEG YOU DIRTY KARATE MAN! DANIEL SAN WILL ULTIMATELY WIN!!
that’s according to a small sample size. it’s possible it’s only an outlier site.
Careful – some people dont understand that crazy statistics talk.
I have to say my 2 fantasy football team names were Sweep the Leg! And Cobra Kai! That headline made me laugh.
Brandon Beachy going in for Tommy John surgery and I’m thinking a package deal… Ryan Dempster, and matt garza = the whole farm (literally)
Atlanta has a very good farm system don’t they?
They are middle-of-the-pack in most rankings.
They are middle of the pack, but they have an outstanding worth of pitching prospects. Just talked to a buddy who follows the Braves closely and I’m told that they are eyeing Dempster. If we can get the haul the Rangers got from Atlanta for Texeira (sp?), we will have a ring on our hand in two years.
Wahoo!!! Cubs are only 14.5 out in the division & only 13 back in the wild card! watch out where baseball’s hottest team!
I flip channels to here Hawk complain
I am sad, I see not this funny headline of which others speak. All I get is the usual “Pre-Gamin’” format.
Oh, dur, I see it, on the site homepage. LoLzers.
Dempster to the Nats for Koyie Hill!
I know its a joke, but i still got scared haha
It is telling that he’s with the Nationals. Dempster and Koyie really get along, I hear tell.
With LaHair back at 1st tonight and both Campana and Johnson in the lineup, it is interesting to see DeJesus starting in CF. It really is starting to look like the plan is to keep him there, which could mean unless they are blown away they, have no intention of trading LaHair and expect him to be starting in RF or LF once Rizzo is up…. Right?… Am I missing something?
Johnson signs for stright slot amount at supp 1st rd pick
Cool.
Wish we had a Chris Archer in the system. Smooth motion and easy mid 90′s gas.
Atleast its len and bob on. I really didn’t want to hear hawk. If I had to listen to him id have to intoxicate myself beforehand. Its like going to your favorite bar on kareoke night and that same annoying person that gets up and sings as if they’re a super star and think they’re the next american idol!
Hey was Randy Wells injured or just highly ineffective? He was pulled after 3.2 innings, what gives for us who don’t have it on cable?
Too many walks
Just plain bad
6th round pick Trey Lang is signed. Idk for how much. Hopefully for underslot.
Shelby beat you to that signing about 4 hours ago, you should be ashamed of yourself… Her google machine must have been working at high strength
Hahaha I aspire to one day live up to shelby status
Yeah 5 walks is pretty pathetic in itself. Hes terrible, wheres Shawn Hill? At least he had some upside.
Is it too early to speculate whether Wells is out of the rotation or not? Who would take his spot? Raley? Lopez? Rusin?
Jacob: Personally, I don’t think it is too early to kick Wells out of the rotation. But I also have no freaking clue on who should replace him.
Wow, wells didnt last long, did he? Unless 3 2/3 innings is the new 7 innings pitched. Was I right about Wells or what? He just doesnt put fear into the hearts of his opponents!
ask the boy wonder; i thought team theo said all ST we have pitching depth……..where is it?
1967: You got me there. Outside of Demp, Garza, and Shark, the rest seems like a crapshoot as of now. I have no idea where it is in terms of a young, consistent pitcher. Fingers crossed that Wood continues to pitch like he did yesterday. I am hopeful.
The Cubs were 10 deep going into ST
Garza, Dempster, Samardzija, Wood, Volstad, Mahalom, Wells, Coleman, Lopez and Sonnanstine. The only one that is no longer there is Sonnanstine, they might not all be that great, but they do have depth.
The Show: But depth, at least for me, is made up of guys who can step in and pitch well. Volstad, not so far, Wells, not so far, Wood, so far yes, Coleman, so far maybe, Mahalom, so far yes.
Yeah I see what you are saying, they have depth but not quality depth.
Njriv: If you are talking about what I said, that is what I mean. There is a major lack of quality depth for the Cubs starting pitching. Even if you don’t mean what I said, I still intended to mean that.
On true contending team Wood wouldn’t even be in the rotation. In the future he could be good #4 or #5 but really needs to grow and kind of learn to refine his game to take it to a new level. Voldstad would not even be on the roster on a contending team, total bust, he’s maybe a guy who fights for a roster spot for a while. Mahalom is a solid proven major leaguer, on a contending team he’s a okay #4 and decent #5. People need to remember that Mahalom is coming off surgery. I think next year Mahalom will bounce back and have a better year. and coleman blows, he has potential but hasn’t live up to it. He needs to go back to iowa and go to the bullpen down there and refine his game. Coleman can’t be a starter, if he wants a long major league career its going to have to be in the bullpen.
SeriousCubsFan: I am trying to give Coleman the benefit of doubt, but you are right about what he has shown so far.
How ya doing my friend? I don’t think Coleman is going to work out. I’m like you, gave him the benefit of the doubt. It just seems he does not have it.
He doesn’t seem to have it from what I have seen so far. And I am doin good hombre! How ya doin?
Trying to get my Advance Auto discounts!(LOL)
I don’t like to be taken to the cleaners on auto repairs.
Heh, nice. Don’t let yourself be taken to the cleaners! (=
Don’t know about that! The new “Woody” is really starting to make a statement.
Gold Finch: Careful with using “Woody”, some people don’t prefer Travis Wood being called Woody.
Forgot!(LOL)
Gold Finch: Nice. (=
Cali–Thanks for all your support, I really mean that. It’s from the heart.
Gold Finch- Again, no prob hombre. (=
Sigh, you two have fun
Michigan: I’m sorry? Did I do something wrong?
Why cant they score with the runner on third with less than 2 outs
Because it’s the Cubs.
Who could be worse than those stats tonight? I think we should name the 5th spot in our rotation. The #1 spot Dempster is our “ace” and whomever is in the 5th spot is labeled “scrap heap”. Ideas anyone?
Jp: Koyie Hill! (=
Not sure he could pitch that bad…
Why did they take out Ascensio? I am not watching it right now, I am keeping track of the game through foxsport.com by gametrax.
Oh, Scott… Sigh…
2 outta 3 ain’t bad I guess. Scott Maine, arrghhh. So done with that guy. Is his dream to be the next Alan Embree? He’ll probably pitch another 12 years or so and retire somewhere in paradise.
