It’s raining at Wrigley Field today, and the game isn’t expected to start on time. Might be a slight delay.

So, the Cubs are going to have to get swept in this series if they want to get back to their .333 pace.

C’mon cubs stop winning. #1 in the draft. The difference between astros bonus money and us at pick #6 was like 4 million dollars. You know how big of a difference that is for Theo and Jed and McLeod to play with next year trying to sign some hard signs.

The cubs were dominant today pitching and hitting. DeJesus had a great day all around. He made some tough plays in center and went 2-4. Castro went 0-4 but made some good defensive plays as well. He did have an error, but it was not costly. He was not very patient today which resulted in some poor ABs. Rizzo 0-3 BB was the greatest today. He also jumped at a few early pitches that resulted in easy outs. Soriano 2-4 1HR 1K. During Sori HR AB, I was amazing with his patients. He did not go after 2 low balls like he usually does and it resulted in a long ball. PATIENCE is my key word today. LaHair 3-4 had a decent day. He just found some holes today on balls in play. Clevenger 1-3 1HR 1BB had a great day batting and throwing out runners. Barney 0-4 had a lack of patience spree today as well. He had two lineouts, but an out is still and out. Valbuena 1-3 HR had a great day. He made some great defensive plays look easy. He sealed the win by catching a linedrive with the bases loaded. Valbuena is becoming one of my favorite cubbies. Maholm had a great day pitching and he deserves my shout out today. Marmol again closed the door. Shutout!!!! I have to apologize for my absence. If only I could get paid to evaluate players then I could do this for you all every day.

there is a chance Bob Brenly will be at the game on July 4th in TN. He said on the air today that is taking next week off to see his son play.

So I guess Dave Lotto will be taking Bob’s place in the booth next week.

Me too. Used to travel from Chi-town to Nashville every week for business. Couldn’t wait to throw luggage in room & haul a cab to Greer stadium. Would meet baseball fans from East Coast & Nashville for $7.00/ seat on third base dugout. Being a Cub fan forever, nothing better than a burger/dog and a couple beers for cheap, good baseball discussions & watching a bunch of kids play the game for the love of the game and a shot at the bigs. Loved the game played at that ball park and it’s location off 8th avenue. It’s been a few years (saw MJ twice w/ Birmingjam while on sabatical from Bulls in ’93) but point is, minor league parks don’t have to show-boat a bunch of money b/c it’s what true fans really want. I have no problem w/ the commercialization of MLB today but think that the minors should be left the way it was 20+ years ago. Too long already.
