It’s a night game for the Cubs at Wrigley, and I’m appreciative, as it gives me a nice buffer during the 30-hour Trade Deadline Blogathon. Speaking of which, what do you say we try to get the BNBlogathon a mention from Len and Bob tonight? It’s a stretch, but shoot them a tweet (Len and Bob are together here, and Len’s individual twitter is here), describing what it is, and asking for a shout. What the hell, right?
As for the game, I’m genuinely excited to get a starting look at Justin Germano. No, I don’t think the Cubs stumbled into a top guy for cheap, but it would be nice if he looks like a capable fifth starter over these next two months.

One last look at Baker and Johnson?
Don’t tease me… i could get over no major trade of Dempster or Garza if we can just send those two somewhere else and open up a few roster spots
I don’t know alot of other teams players, but I can tell if the SP is left or right handed just by our lineup.
At least Luis Valbuena is out of the lineup…
Just sent them a tweet
It says 120ct on wgn, is it actually 705 on wgn?
705 on CSN
I predict maholm is traded.
I used to think that the cubs would make move atleaast 6 players on their 25 man now im thinking it may just be johnson and dempster.
Soriano is still in the line-up… Dodgers must not be that interested.
They have been tweeted
Think anything to LaHair not being in lineup?
Nah. Facing a lefty.
I agree. Dont trade with colletti. He traded milton bradley for ethier.
Eric Jokish is pitching another great game for Tennessee 5 shutout innings so far. He has to be building himself into one of the top Cubs pitching prospects
In fact he has pitched better than the Dodgers Lee and Webster this season.
Well Now Jokish is struggling in the 6th giving up 3 runs. Next time I’ll wait and keep my mouth shut until the start is over with
At this point does our lineup really matter?
Thats ok hes still pitching better than Lee and Webster!
I appreciate all your efforts here at BN! Growing up in northwest Indiana (about 32 miles from Chicago) a cubs fan was easy. But alas I live close to st. Louis now and have to endure a lot of crap from people at work and sometimes a complete stranger when they find out I’m a cubs fan. So yesterday made the pain a little easier to bear as no one here likes to talk of cubs blue beating the red birds.(watching the grimacing was quit fun) my point here is plz theo plz Jed bring us good players, more wins, a world series, and a yearly thrashing of st. Louis! I can’t wait!!!!
Game’s on CSN.
Rizzo is a beast!!
With all the trade hysteria, it’s hard to focus too much on the game, but once again Corpas has been very good. Other than the one game against the Cardinals, he has been very, very good since being called up.
