The Wife’s birthday unfortunately falls during the BNBlogathon. This is my attempt to do my husbandly best.
Month: July 2012
Gettin’ twitchy. Can’t tell if it’s the lack of movement, the modest amounts of caffeine, or jacked up sleep schedule.
Dale Sveum admits that he doesn’t expect Dempster to be in Chicago tomorrow.
Hey, there’s a game in the middle of all of this madness …
Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock …
A source is the first to suggest the Braves/Cubs/Dempster deal from last week could still happen, another says the Nats have entered the fray. Also Cliff Lee madness, and other rumors.
The rumors are starting to trickle in, but it’s been mostly quiet in the early going. I’m still getting my footing.
The Ryan Dempster Trade Saga: More Indication That the Only Issue Was Timing (Talks With Dodgers Continue?)
Another source says Dempster didn’t want to reject the Braves’ deal outright, but he ran out of time. Also, a random bit on Alfonso Soriano.
Everyone loves Anthony Rizzo, and that’s totally fair. Dale Sveum explains Carlos Marmol, Bryan LaHair knows he’s struggling, and Matt Holliday offers SCardenfreude.
Descend with me into madness.
Three young Cubs pitching prospects threw yesterday, and, for a moment, we caught of glimpse of a future that might be.
Open Thread: Post All Trade Rumors and News Here Until the 30-Hour Trade Deadline Blogathon Begins (10am CT)
The Blogathon starts tomorrow morning, so I need to get some serious sleep.
The latest from the rumor mill as we head into the home stretch.
You know what I’m going to say …
The Cubs have the chance to take the series from the Cardinals.
The White Sox pick up a pitcher, and the A’s pick up a catcher. How does that affect the Cubs? More on Samardzija’s stuff and Barney’s glove.
The Olympics are swell and all, but where’s the baseball?
An evening round-up of the latest from the rumor mill …
Down go the Cardinals.
As We Approach the Trade Deadline, Blogathon Thoughts and Other Places to Follow Bleacher Nation for the Latest
We’re getting close to the Trade Deadline and, thus, the Blogathon, so some prep may be in order.
Maybe Jeff Samardzija can one-up Travis Wood by giving up just four homers. Oh, hey, look, the Cardinals have some rookie pitcher you’ve never heard of with an ERA under 3.00. That never happens. Jeff Baker gets the start at second base, which I’m sure is mostly about giving Darwin Barney a day off … […]
Fair/foul, and trapped/caught will be added soon. Justin Germano will probably start on Monday, and Dale Sveum says we don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes.
Matt Szczur finally gets promoted to AA, and it’s deserved. Where he goes from here, though, we’ll see.
The Ryan Dempster Saga: Source Says He *WILL* Consider Trades to Teams Other Than Dodgers (UPDATES: But Cubs/Dodgers in Discussions?)
Although it could be another attempt to regain leverage with the Dodgers, I’m not so sure it isn’t true. (UPDATE at 8:13pm CT – Not Josh Lindblom.)
The Angels weren’t in on Ryan Dempster or Matt Garza, and other suitors for Greinke might be. And, wow, the Brewers got a lot of talent back.
Homer binge. And not the good kind.
