The stakes for the Pirates are clear tonight: another series loss to the Cubs, a mere .500 record, and a season in the toilet (as far as the playoffs are concerned).

The pirates seem to fall off at the end of the season. Its like they become too tired. They do great thru the all-star break and once mid/late august hits they commit playoff suicide!
Or do they just start off very hot and regress back to the team they actually are in the second half?
The game isn’t going to start on time, by the way.
Do you think the game will get played at all?
They don’t have the bench to get them through a long season. they are getting better and will continue to get better they have done well drafting except fir this years 1st pick.
For not picking outside of the top-4 since 2006 (save this year at #8, which hasnt yielded them anything), they really havent drafted all that well, actually.
Looks like there are about 200 people at the game because of the very late start. A big Cubs fan gold star to the hardcore fans that stuck this one out knowing they’ll get home at 3am on a work night if lucky.
Also as a side note, if the Cubs don’t win it in a year I’d love to see Pittsburgh or Oakland in it (or KC in a different year). Hard to not pull for the low budget underdog teams.
Pittsburgh’s collapse this year kind of made me sad. I really dislike all the teams vying for that last wildcard excluding Pitt
Wow late game tonight.
