Pre-Gamin’: Reds v. Cubs (1:20 CT) – Lineups, Broadcast Info, etc.

Jason Berken, like Chris Rusin and Justin Germano before him (yup, that’s a theme, folks), is trying to get into management’s head when they think about 5th starter options for 2013. He could use a good start after a rough first outing with the Cubs.

Alfonso Soriano gets the day off after finally reaching 30/100.

The Reds’ lineup is of the all-bench variety that Dusty Baker was so famous for when he was with the Cubs. He’s not actually managing the Reds today, though. He’s in the hospital with a heart murmur, and Chris Speier will manage today, as he did yesterday.

You’ve got a softball coming your way, Berken.

Not about today’s game, but noticed that Cole Gillespie got DFA’d by the D’Backs. What do you guys think about trying to pick him up. Minor numbers show someone who walks a bunch (lowest OBP in minors was .372). At 28 he is on the wrong side for being a prospect, but I would think he could be a good person to compete with Campana and Sappelt for backup outfielder.

I’m sure sveum is still pissed at jackson for striking out badly with bases loaded last nite. And he looked bad doing it.

I’m bored at work. Anybody got a 20 on Randy Wells?

  4. Njriv

Whats going on with Frazier? Is he like Alonso last year and can’t find playing time?

This Reds lineup is kind of stupid…they’re still fighting for home field.

and Dusty isn’t even managing er mismanaging today.

Looks like they are trying to lose so they can clinch the division at home. This game is gonna look like South Park versus Denver for the Colorado Little League championship. :-P

WTF Reds.. Do you not understand we are in aa heated battle battle for the 2nd pick in the draft? That has to be the worst lineup I have ever seen from a playoff team.

  7. ssckelley

I like LaHair in the lineup but no Soriano? It would be neat to see Soriano lead the National League in RBI’s.

Corpas is worthless, hopefully not part of 2013 plans.

    1. JR

Corpas has been an important part of the Cubs plans to achieve a high draft pick this year, don’t under estimate his worth. haha..

        Corpas delicti.
