The Cubs lost last night, which is either good or bad, depending on your perspective. The lineups are essentially the same as last night, too, which is either good or bad, depending on your perspective.

Jason Berken will try to mow down another chump-a-lump-a-gus lineup after recently taking apart the all-bench version of the Reds.

Thinking of next year’s draft, wouldn’t it be to the Cub’s advantage to have just an average looking girl represent them vs. a real hotty for whomever we’re opposing in the series preview? Just a thought.

come on #2 draft pick… i would like to see them loose all but like the last game or two of the season, just so they can end the season on a semi high note. i hate to see them lose but it is in the best interest of the organization for them to lose now. winning a few meaningless games now just hurt next years draft, im sure theo and jed already knows who is and isnt coming back next season now already with the exception of maybe one or two younger guys.

    Jackson still sick?

Berken took apart the reds not the Castro’s. Big difference

Let me correct that – it was the Reds’ all-bench lineup, which is still better than the Astros.

  • http://bleachernation allen

    Astros not Castro’s obviously

  • Tommy

Not saying the Cubs are trying to lose, but Vitters and Mathers in the lineup at the same time with no Dejesus seems a little suspect.

    …and I ain’t complainin’.

  • João Lucas

Came here just to say two words to you guys: Joe Mather.

    Goodness gracious.

  • Josh

Cubs now have a 3.0 game lead on the 2nd pick with only 7 to go

    • Stinky Pete

2 game lead, actually. A Miami win or Cubs loss moves them into a top 5 pick. “Magic” number for #2 pick is 6. For top 3 pick it’s 2.

  • gutshot5820

Looks like the best pickup for Theo was Mathers, Germano, Berken and Volstad. LOL.

you thought the whining and bitching about losing was bad this year wait until 2013 with no dempster and Mahlon to slow the loading down , and on a different if you we’re a fa pitcher except for big money why would u come here knowing most likely theory and Jed will deal you at the trade deadline , I think it starts to get better in 2014 but next year well see how much patience cubs fans have.
