Enhanced Box Score: Cubs 3, Diamondbacks 8 – September 28, 2012

The Cubs continue to be 0-fer-the-West, with Travis Wood getting tagged, and the Cubs’ bats staying relatively quiet.

Hey, did I mention that Darwin Barney was going for the single-season ML record for consecutive errorless games at second base in this game?

Sori with 3 walks is that correct? Still a great accomplishment for barney!

    Congrats Barney – helluva accomplishment.

Although it does get a tad old when, as Cubs fans, we can’t seem to ever have anything nice or to ourselves.

The not so superstitious Len Kasper did a few times early yesterday and JINXed it

nothing about this team is exciting except finally the end is near. what a disgraceful season

I’m excited about a lot of things that this team is doing. There is a lot to look forward in the next couple of months.

Not a disgraceful. I feel it has been fun to watch the new guys plus I have been more excited because I know this will lead to something. I watched more Cubs this year than the last 2 years combined because I know what the plan is. Now I am going to look forward to the winter and see what the FO does. Good season to the young guys. Hope to see a lot of you guys next year.

Whatever way you slice it, Barney has put together one of the best seasons ever by a second baseman. Quite an accomplishment. Congrats.

So where do you stand in the 2nd round pick sweepstakes?

  7. cubsin

Any combination of Cubs losses or Rockies wins totaling two will give the Cubs the #2 pick. If the two teams finish the season with identical records, the Cubs would draft ahead of the Rockies because the Cubs had a worse record in 2011.
