If the Cubs did sign Brandon McCarthy (which I hope they do) and Wood became a swingman, the Cubs would have no left handed starters. Is that right? Is that something they would do? Not sure about that.

I know but it was mentioned earlier that if they signed McCarthy, Wood would probably go to the bullpen as long relief. That means the rotation would be Garza, Samardjia, McCarthy, Feldman and Baker. Pretty good but all right handed.
oh, i gotcha. my bad. Garza and Samardzija are locks. I hope Wood is too. Leave the last 2 spots open for competition between Baker, Feldman, and someone else (rumors are that the cubs are not done). My hunch is that Feldman goes to the pen.
