Pre-Gamin’: Cubs v. Giants (2:05 CT) – Lineup, Broadcast Info, etc.

scottsdale stadiumThe Cubs are 4-3 on the Spring, which, if it were the regular season, and if the pace continued over 162 games, it’d be like 92 wins. So, I mean. There you go.

New Cub Carlos Villanueva will try again today – this time, he’ll hope to get through his first inning of work. The Cubs were scheduled to face Tim Lincecum, but he’s been scratched due to a blister. Instead, it’s Yusmeiro Petit.

Brian Bogusevic finally gets another start in the outfield, and Steve Clevenger will make his debut at first base. Edwin Maysonet gets his second consecutive start, too (this time at shortstop, after being at third base yesterday).

Today’s game is on WGN Radio!

The lineup:

1. David DeJesus, CF

2. Darwin Barney, 2B

3. Nate Schierholtz, DH

4. Alfonso Soriano, LF

5. Brian Bogusevic, RF

6. Dioner Navarro, C

7. Steve Clevenger, 1B

8. Edwin Maysonet, SS

9. Christian Villanueva, 3B

Help! I ordered 4 tickets to the Cubs-Cards game at Busch Stadium on Monday June 17. I thought I was getting box seats and instead ended up with seats in the “Powerade Bridge” ($118.00 a piece). The Bridege is apparetnly way behind the right field bleachers, and with two kids, I’d much rather be closer to the field.

Aside from trying to sell them on Stub Hub and getting ripped off, does anyone know of any ticket swaps or have any suggestions?

92 wins? I need to go back to school. Yikes!

The Clevenger situation is getting interesting. Dale talked about even throwing him at 2B in a split squad game. He also mentioned the benefits of having a third catcher since you can pinch-run a little easier. He’s still probably a longshot, but 2 weeks ago I’d have said he had no chance to break with the club.

I could be wrong, but I believe Clevenger was drafted as a Shortstop/third-baseman originally.

Stub hub is not a ripoff. Simply mark your tickets up 15% over your cost. I would imagine Busch is sold out most games so you’ll be ok. I sell 70 plus cub games a year on stub hub. Plus my bulls and blackhawk tickets and never have a problem. Just saying.

Whittenmyer tweets that Stewart will make the team if healthy. too thin at 3rd base.

Nice day when the other pitcher can’t find the plate.
