It’s the first split squad game for the Cubs on the Spring (split squad, for the uninitiated, means what it sounds like it means – the Cubs divide things up, and take on two teams on the same day), and it comes with a bonus: lots of prospects will be playing for the Cubs today. At last check, in addition to the guys in big league camp, we could also see Albert Almora, Dan Vogebach, Trey Martin, Stephen Bruno, and Zeke DeVoss in action. We haven’t yet hear which prospects will be at which game, except for Almora, who says he’ll be playing in the Angels game. I’ll be at a funeral most of the day today, so I likely won’t be able to update this to reflect where each prospect will be playing. If you see word on this, please add it to the comments.
Double bonus: the game against the Angels is going to be televised! … tomorrow morning on tape delay on MLB Network (8:30am CT). But if you’ve got MLB.tv, you can watch live.
The lineups (as of early Sunday morning, and subject to change):
Against the Brewers:
1. Luis Valbuena, 3B
2. Darwin Barney, 2B
3. Anthony Rizzo, 1B
4. Alfonso Soriano, DH
5. Nate Schierholtz, RF
6. Welington Castillo, C
7. Scott Hairston, CF
8. Brett Jackson, LF
9. Javier Baez, SS
Against the Angels:
1. David DeJesus, CF
2. Dave Sappelt, RF
3. Brian Bogusevic, DH
4. Brad Nelson, 1B
5. Christian Villanueva, 3B
6. Dioner Navarro, C
7. Johermyn Chavez, LF
8. Edwin Maysonet, 2B
9. Alberto Gonzalez, SS

I’d much rather watch the Brewers game than the Angels game, but oh well. A Cubs game is a Cubs game is a Cubs game.
Carrie Muskat tweeted a couple of hours ago that Vogelbach will ..be staying in Mesa to play the Brewers
I also saw last night Almora tweeted he will be playing in the Angels game
Has Soler been put in exile? Haven’t seen him for a while.
If you have DirecTv with the sports pak the game is live on 692.
Just bought MLBTV, come on 2:00
Wish the Brewers game was on, instead of the Angels though…
How do you like it?
Here is an article about Svuem teasing a minor leaguer about his eating habits on ESPN.

Why did we not put Garza on the DL earlier and save Campana a spot?
dl stint will take you off the active 25 man, but he would remain on the 40, thus not clearing a spot.
even had that not been the case, i am assuming the cubs did not want/expect to have to dl garza.
even if they did, no more campana
Finally, a cubs game to watch. I’m sick of the yankees and phillies everyday. MLB network is pissing me off.
Almora and Soler are both in now in the Angels game.
THE FUTURE!!
Baez a 2 run shot
At the brewer game and baez just hit a two run line drive into left field lawn seats. Impressive swing to say the least
Like the Baez walk with the bases loaded.
Vogelbach now playing…
Christian Villanueva looks good at 3B
Nice bases loaded walk by baez… fough off some tough pitches
Lake Baez Saunders vogelbach infield with zych pitching
Looks like Trout may be eating his way out of a big contract with a big belly- looking like John Kruk
