hohokam-park-signRemember when seeing the Cubs face the White Sox in Spring Training was a huge deal? It’s still bigger than your typical Spring Training game, but it doesn’t quite have the cachet it once did.

Dale Sveum told the media that it’s just another Cactus League game.

“I’ve got to be honest, they just run into each other,” Sveum said. “It’s just another game. Everybody gets their work in. It is what it is – just another Cactus League game. Guys are just getting their work in, getting their at-bats, getting their innings in and all that. It’s a little tough to think you’re going to be super serious when you aint got your lineup out there. They won’t have their lineup out there, or their main guys pitching.”

Carlos Villanueva starting and is hitting today for the Cubs, which means those of you in attendance may get to see the most magical plate approach in baseball:
