hohokam-park-signLook closely at the lineup today, because Dale Sveum says it’s his Opening Day look (sans the DH, obviously). There really aren’t any surprises if you’ve been paying attention to the lineups this Spring. Of course, if Chris Rusin is starting for the Cubs on Opening Day, things have gone even more disastrously than they have already.

Speaking of Rusin, he’ll look to continue his hot Spring, and stay in Sveum’s mind as a possible second lefty in the pen (plus being a potential long reliever). And, if there is another injury in the rotation – heaven help us – Rusin might well be the next guy in line to join the rotation. I’m sure he’d like to stay there.

The game is available (audio) via Cubs.com/MLB.com.

The lineup:

1. David DeJesus, CF

2. Starlin Castro, SS

3. Anthony Rizzo, 1B

4. Alfonso Soriano, LF

5. Nate Schierholtz, RF

6. Welington Castillo, C

7. Luis Valbuena, 3B

8. Darwin Barney, 2B

9. Dioner Navarro, DH

Second lefty… assuming Takahashi doesn’t make it? I guess you could be assuming that Russell is the de facto setup man, so he doesn’t actually count as a lefty.

Rusin is likely in competition with Takahashi for the second lefty spot – doubt both make it.

I’m trying so hard to be excited about this lineup. Just wish we could get third base figured out. I like Castro in the 2-hole though.

In other news, anyone watching the WBC Championship game tonight? I pick the red-hot D.R. to net their first trophy.

Anyone know of a good roster for the Cubs on MLB the show 13? I’ve seen some that are ok but none that are great.
