71014_moneyhappiness_vl-verticalAll right, procrastinators. Now’s your time to shine.

The free BN one-day fantasy baseball contest is today, based on today’s games. (Eeeee!) If you want to sign up and play, you’ve got until the Cubs/Giants game kicks off at 1:20pm CT (2:20pm ET) to sign up and get your roster set. It only takes a few minutes, so get on it now and join the fun.

In short: you pick a roster of players based on today’s games, watch them rack up points, and try to beat the other BN’ers playing. The top score gets $60, and the next 24 get $10 apiece. Those are some pretty good odds of winning some cash. Also, signing up helps support BN, so you’ll get that good feeling for yourself, too.

Here’s where you sign up and build your team.

Here’s the full details on the contest.

  • Jp3

Brett, where is the running scoreboard for BN players for the contest?

    • http://www.bleachernation.com Brett

It opens when the first game starts.

  • Jp3

    Sweet, thanks

  • Patrick G

Can we see other peoples lineups once the games start?

    • http://www.bleachernation.com Brett

I believe you can click through the leaderboard and see the rosters. If memory serves.

  • Mr. Gonzo

If we win $10, could it used as a discount on a BN shirt?

    • Mr. Gonzo

If the winnings come from DraftStreet and not BN, my question isn’t relevant.

      • http://www.bleachernation.com Brett

Yeah, it comes from DS. But far be it from me to tell you how to spend your winnings…

        • Mr. Gonzo

I am a firm believer of putting the revenue back into the team *err* site from which it came from.

          • Mr. Gonzo

*site from which I entered the contest with. Geeeeez, I might need to be locked in a dumpster…

  • Vic

showing my support for BN and signed up!

I’m going to use my winnings to buy Brett a few apple-tinis when he comes to town; they’re his favorite.

    • MichiganGoat

I’ll just blow it all on Michigan beer in a few days… but it will be a wonderful couple of days.

      • JulioZuleta

If you saw my team…you wouldn’t bother making plans of how to spend your winnings…just sayin’

    • http://www.bleachernation.com Brett

Boo. I like beers, too …

  • MichiganGoat

Okay I set my lineup in 30 minutes during lunch and used very little thinking about matchups and such, so I’ll be interested to see how my team does compared to all of you who have tinkered and but serious thought into everything.

Btw because of BN I’ve become quite a fan of draft street and have played a game or two a week since I started and have yet to be forced to add additional funds. Its a very fun way to play fantasy.

    • http://www.bleachernation.com Brett

Nice. We’re going to do some cheap money leagues from time to time, too (just kind of casual, though, among those of use who want to play $2 games or something – not a big deal). I think I’ll set one up for folks who want to do it next Wednesday.

  • northsiders6

What does PIR mean on the scoreboard?

    • CityCub

      it means player innings remaining

  • CityCub

So did everyone basically set their lineup for this 1 day contest loaded with giants and cubs players?

    • http://www.bleachernation.com Brett

      Haha. I did …

      • CityCub

haha….i seen there was quite a few people who did…i prolly should of picked maybe 1 or 2 players from this game besides Cain and Romo lol…..but i had to pick Romo, he’s my closer on my actual fantasy baseball team

  • CityCub

What happens if we have a player that gets rained out today?

    • http://www.bleachernation.com Brett

      You get bupkis for him.

  • Jed Jam Band

Great. My team just lost a starting pitcher and 3B due to the postponement of the TB-BOS game for today.

    • CityCub

yeah, i had Zobrist….so basically are we just screwed on that game now ?

      • wvcubsfan

Yes, luckily the only player I had selected was Bradley Jr.

        • http://www.bleachernation.com Brett

I lost Longoria, for what it’s worth.

          • CityCub

            ouch…..whats worse Brett…..you losing Longoria…..or Quentin breaking Greinke’s collarbone?

  • cubchymyst

Crap I wasn’t thinking about to the weather when I made my line up, looks like I lost a player due to Tampa Bay/Boston game being postponed.

  • CityCub

Of course since i picked Cain….this is gonna be the day that the Cubs destroy a teams Ace lol

  • Kygavin

Surprised how many people picked Cubs guys…

    • TWC

      I’ll say…

      Rose-colored glasses!

      • Kygavin

you would think after watching this offense everyday you would avoid them haha (i did pick castro)

        • TWC

I’m totally embarrassed about it, but I picked Clevenger. (I needed a suuuuuper cheap utility player.)

          • miggy80

wish I could of played but I live in one of those lame states.

  • Dave

The current leader is “BrettTaylorLikesWeenie” which confirms that Paul Sullivan signed up for the contest.

  • DarthHater

    heh heh

  • JulioZuleta

Picked up Stanton thinking tonight was the night he breaks out. Instead, he was a late scratch. Sweet.

    • college_of_coaches

Ha, same exact thing with my team.
