miller parkThe Cubs get to return to a climate-controlled environment, so there will be no weather-related excuses in this series. And, given the pitching match-ups – starting tonight with Jeff Samardzija against Marco Estrada – the Cubs should have an advantage.

But we know how that goes. We’ll probably get a chance to get our first look at new outfielder Julio Borbon at some point in this series.

    You live in Columbus, right?

TELL me you’ve eaten at City BBQ. They have 2 in Indianapolis and I go nearly every week.

    • http://www.bleachernation.com Brett

      I do and I have … it’s OK. I’m not a big BBQ guy …

    • cb

F that. Thurman burger ftw.I want to try Rodizio too.

  • PeteG

I’m feeling Shark having a great night tonight. Btw I love people’s feedback so what is your guys thought on Bourbon and with the season moving along who do you guys think can get added or dropped?

    • Eric

When Dejesus is traded Borbon will finally put things together and be our Big Papi. Hey a guy can dream can’t he.

  • cubmig

Samardzija had a good outing last time out. My hope is he shows a strong 3 innings start tonight, a command to hold-em through the middle innings and has a lead to hand over to his relievers. Samardzija had a very strong start and was on his way into the middle innings, but then slipped to let the game get away. One other point. Sveum has to keep tabs for any signs of developing trouble Shark might be having. Sveum waited too long before lifting him last time. He can’t let patience get the best of him tonight. Here’s to a win for Samardzija.

    • Cubbie Blues

My hope is he gets his first of 3 consecutive perfect games tonight, but I’ll take yours as his floor.

  • willis

    I really hate the Brewers.

    • Nebraska Cubs

      ^^^ +1

  • willis

BJax sitting again tonight against Nashville, anyone know what the deal is? He just playing so poorly he’s getting a seat or is he hurt? Iowa is here starting tomorrow for four days and I am going…me want to see BJax.

    He facing a lefty?

  • http://en.gravatar.com/stumason2105 Nebraska Cubs

I’ll answer my own Q, he is not facing a lefty. Might just be getting the night off, but doesnt make sense when they haven’t played since tuesday

    • willis

He’s been sitting an awful lot lately.

      • http://www.bleachernation.com Brett

        Jammed toe. Expected back tomorrow.

        • willis

Just in time for Memphis. Hooray!

        • Jp3

You serious, toejam and he can’t play?:)

          • willis

Yeah that better not keep him out tomorrow. My hard earned free ticket will be pissed.

  • Jp3

Yeah that’s odd, he doesn’t get better against lefties by sitting. That’s not what the minors are for, I’m guessing he’s injured or something else.

    • Jp3

      Trade????;)

  • Jimmy James

    Wciu? :(

    • Jimmy james

Never mind, apparently I get that station this year lol….turned it on in time for rizzomg

  • KidCubbie

    Rizzo bomb.

  • Jimmy james

That was some bad base running that inning lol

    • mick6x

      I’m still confused

  • Mr. Brent Kennedy

Jean Segura stole second in the bottom of the eight, later in the inning, was thrown stealing second. Epic.

    • ssckelley

Horrible call by the umpires, Segura should have been called out when Valbuena applied the 2nd tag.

  • Beardface

Not a good debut by Borbon….

    • ssckelley

No, that was a horrible slide. He almost did not even make it to 2nd base.

    • http://www.bleachernation.com Brett

Wow. That was fast. I’m going to post this. Where did you find it?

    • ssckelley

Segura should have never left 2nd base as he was entitled to it, at that point Braun was out. I don’t know what Segura was thinking running back to first base. Valbuena clearly tagged him when he was off the base so it should have been an inning ending double play.

      Bizarre play!
